He's been dominant in the AHL, big power forward, but hasn't been able to translate it to the NHL in his limited action with the Sabres.

Great signing.

Well that should round out the lineup.

See everyone in September

1G 7A 8P in only 20GP, is 25 Y/O. Is definitely a depth signing, but he's a big, big boy (6'3, 225)

Great AHLer. But I hope you guys got him on a 2-way deal.

Big, booming shot, and average defensively, but other than that he has no redeeming quality at the NHL level. Uses his size less than Steve Bernier.

So a new Desbiens? Or is he better?

Didn't Mancari win the AHL Hardest Shot Competition a couple years ago?

Not even close. He's a guy with top-6 forward potential, but he was never able to crack the Sabres lineup. I see him more as this year's Jeff Tambellini.

Elite AHL player, should help the Wolves and serve as useful depth. Nice thing is he doesn't need to go through re-entry waivers on the way up.

I think it's important to have some good offensive players on the minor league team. Between this and the rumored signing of Ebbett, guys like Schroeder, Rodin, and Hodgson will finally have some players to play with.

Better. At least it gives them some size to use with guys like Schroeder and Rodin.

One way deal, doesn't mean he will be a Canuck. Has some potential, and not expensive at all.

Not necessarily, wasn't Joel Perrault on a one-way? It's just a way you can spend more to beef up your AHL team. I'm sure he'll get a chance to make the team but if not, they'll let him make his money in the AHL.

Really good signing. Perfect fit to create some space for Hodgson, Rodin, Schroeder, etc in Chicago.

This! Exactly.

I loved the Moose but I was getting tired of seeing the team made up of a few of our talented prospects + a bunch of plugs. Hopefully the Canucks get even more prospects joining Hodgson and Schroeder with the Wolves and then fill out the roster with some more talented AHL players like Mancari.

Perrault was a one-way contract too. Short of a major injury run (not impossible for Canucks), Mancari has a near zero chance of playing a game as a Canuck next season. But crazier things have happened.

With the Wolves losing Krog, they needed some AHL superstars.

Don't read too much into the one-way deal...our team signs guys on one-ways to help our guys in the minors. Manitoba used to pickup some of the tab, I am assuming Chicago would be willing to do the same, they need to ice a winner to get the fans in the door.

I see this as very similar to Krog/Perreault signings of the last two years. He can be a star for the Wolves and help out our smaller prospects there, but could also play some spot duty with the big club.

I hope he's AHL bound and not meant to replace Torres.

We REALLY NEED Rupp now for the 4th line, we need that size and quality 4th line grinder pk talent.

oof, that's a damning statement. i guess it's not possible that he uses his hands less than bernier but if he's not a physical player i don't want to see him up with the big club.
