We don't even know the number. It's not like he won't be a servicable defenceman in four years anymore. I'm sure he will.

Man Florida may actually make some noise next year. A Good Combo of young talent and veteran presence. Like what they are doing today.

Wow Florida is signing anyone who'll except it. At least they'll be competitive.....,maybe. Although Cambell and Jovo should be a decent and old pairing?

Great. Every D-man signed elsewhere is a slap in Ken Holland's face and Mr Ilitch is taking notice.

Too bad this didn't happen years ago so Yzerman could have taken over as GM.

Its obvious why the did the length the way they did. To eat up something like 2M in cap space when he's making only making 1M...

Honestly, hes 35. 4 year contract has to be one of the worst FA signings ever. I'm calling them to buy him out after 2 years.

I wouldnt have cared what the cap hit is for 2 years, but wow.

Gee, that might prevent them from spending to the cap ceiling.

Or to the cap floor for that matter.

The Cats need to hit the cap floor.

Lets say he retires a year or two in... his cap hit remains and the Cats don't have to pay him.

Seems like that would be win-win

If its a 35+ contract the cap hit remains no matter what so buyout is worthless

Guess with Panthers it doesn't matter much
