You really don't want Leino unless absolutely desperate, he's the definition easy-minute guy.

I think we could still make a good use of an easy-minute secondary scoring guy... Cammalleri, Plekanec, Gionta and Eller appear to me as forwards that can have success against bigger lines.

We have Eller and Desharnais. Leino is seeking a hard-minutes salary.

It;s funny,
I never liked Lieno.

I have a feeling he had his year. I think that is the type of player clicks with his linemates but wont be able to re-produce all that play with other linemates..

On e thing people are missing is teams like Phillie and Tampa will need to shed slary to sign their RFA's...so maybe we can get Hartnell or Malone relatively cheap...those guys are as good as anybody on the market for our needs, right now the best fits are Cole and Langenbrunner.

If we get any of these guys I'd be happy. The least with Konopka the others I'd be thrilled about. Leino intrigues me the most.

He looks to be a player just hitting that stride in his development, may have room to grow and ceiling to reach, and he could potentially become a better all around player than we've seen last season. He's a wild card asset worth taking a gamble on.

Konopka - worth it for cheap, that's about it.

Cole - Probably my 2nd choice after Leino. If we got both I'd be thrilled. If we sign this guy we won't regret it imo. I think he'll be a good fit.

Gagne - Concussion risk. Not sure if it's worth it but he's another gamble, and imo more in a bad way than Leino. Medium risk high reward.

Also mentionable is Bergenheim or Rupp. Both I'd be happy with but if we got 2-3 from the above list I'd be thrilled. Even one of the above + one of these two guys.

Jagr would've been cool but Leino is 27, a possession player kind of late bloomer type. We will definitely be able to use this guy.

Konopka, why would they want that guy. His +/- is horrendous, -14, -11, -1, -15. Plus he's not a points guy so he's right up Montreal's alley. This kind of deal would empty the seats in the Bell Forum.

Adding Cole + Rupp makes us a better team. It's not Richards signing and it isn't as cool as a Jagr signing would be, but Cole could potentially bring more to our team than Jagr would have. Rupp changes our team. Having Rupp, Darche, Moen, White 4th liners would be very ideal. Darche as a fill in for top lines. No more Moen/Halpern in the top lines. Then Moen will have a great season and we'll be tougher.

And regarding Konopka:

Because when Markov goes down, or somebody goes after PK... you need guys like Moen, Konopka, White... that's why. And having only 1-2 on a small team is bad. Konopka isn't huge but he'll throw down no problems.

BGL was pretty popular by doing pretty much...nothing. Konopka is more of a Hell raiser. I think you don't know Habs fans very well.

I agree..Cole would bring more than Jagr to this team (If he plays like he plays in Carolina).

And unfortunately ..Rupp is now gone. Signed in NY Rangers
