but at the price it cost to get him, it's gotta be considered a pretty big risk.
he's been banged up, and plays the game in a way that leads to physical breakdown... how is he going to be looking in 2-3-4 years? where will he be physically?
risky, but I guess the we had to give both term & top-dollar if we were going to win that bidding war.
This out of carolina thing is overblown. He had 1 year, on a horrible edmonton team when he was banged up, hardly a big deal.
And he certainly loves playing montreal, his best games came here...

RDS guys are funny putting Cole on the third line,we just payed 4,5 million on a power forward and they are putting him on the third line.And there supposed to be experts...lol

In 2 years the cap will be close to 70M and his salary will look pretty average.
We got something we needed big time, which is a big player who can score 5 on 5 and hit. He also has a fair bit of speed and will be perfect on a line with Cammy and Plekanec. He will give them the space they need to do their thing. Our top-6 is set. All we need is anotehr player for our-bottom six and a dman and I will be happy!

Playing on a Cammy-Plek-Cole line, defenders and goalies won't know who to focus their attention on most. The guy who drives the net Cole possibly? Or will it be the playmaker who can also score nice goals Plekanec? Potentially Cammy now that he has two solid setup guys feeding him the puck. I guarantee we'll see a lot of Cole to Cammy goals!
This is ****ing awesome. I'm glad our management adjusted the top 6. They let Pouliot walk, Hammer wanted too long a term they let him walk. Pyatt was great but obviously the team has greater things to come. So while it wasn't Jagr/Richards I'm not the least bit upset with getting Cole. I think Cole will be a better fit.
