Canucks sign F Andrew Ebbett to 1 year, $525,000 deal

Per Kyper

#NHL news. Hearing #Canucks closing in with an agreement with Andrew Ebbett for 1 year
https://twitter.com/#!/RealKyper/sta...37322829672448

Depth move I imagine for the Wolves with an outside shot of making the team.

Update:
#Canucks gave free agent centre Andrew Ebbett a one-way deal for $500k. Speedy versatile and small. The new Jeff Tambellini?
https://twitter.com/#!/JamiesonCanuc...38557717037056

#Canucks. My bad, long day. That should be $525 k for Ebbett.

My first reaction if it was for the Canucks was: "UGGHHHHH God Ebbett...No"

Really hoping this is for the Wolves, which in that case. Good signing!

I can't imagine it would be anything but a signing for the AHL, replacement for Shirokov in a way.

haha. has to be a Wolves move if true.

or who knows, maybe the thing we need most to push us over the edge is...more undersized role players!!!

I recall him being a decent PKer with Anaheim. All speed and no hands (at least at the NHL level).

Good signing for the Wolves. Ebbett's always been a big point producer in the AHL.

Not surprised that Gillis with Young in town is targeting some AHLers tweeners.

Just touched base with wolves GM Young...he said Vancouver is very active in Free Agency with regards to Wolves roster..

More GM Young "Canucks in major negotiations that would significantly improve team around their young prospects"

Must be. Sounds too much like Andrew Alberts. Gillis runs a tight ship; he'd never allow such confusion in his teams locker room.

I expect a Krog/Perreault type contract if this materializes; one-way, but with the Canucks paying it in the AHL. 204 points in 210 AHL games, and has a bit of NHL experience. Would be a good guy to have playing with the kids in Chicago.

Ding ding ding.

Very important to surround the prospects in the AHL with good players.

Good signing for the Wolves. Good to have scorers for Schroeder and Hodgson to work with.

Great signings so far. Once we've finished rounding out the Wolves and had a few days to digest what's happened so far, we should probably take a little time and give some attention to that other hockey club we're associated with... what's that club called again?
