Philly got worse no matter who they got in the trades and who they signed today. It wont make up for the loss of richards and carter. Not this year maybe not for a couple years.

Other than that, not really impressed by other EC moves.

I do think sather should up the ante
With the way the teams below us finished, devils, carolina, toronto and the piles, coupled with the move Buffalo and the lil bit MTL did, i'd say we're in trouble next year. Especially if 2010-11 Gabby shows up.

Feels like there hasn't even been a hint as to who he'll sign with. It's so quiet.

Toronto probably has the highest bid, then LA, and then us.... If LA had the highest bid he would've signed it in a heartbeat because they have the best team out of the three.

But they were so good in the second half. Plus they have "Vezina" Reimer, not to mention Tyler(better than Anisimov) Bozak and Nazem Gretzky,er Kadri.

Lugano isn't in Germany, but Switzerland. If you had to live in Europe, it's one of the most desirable places to go, especially if you have money.

Just being honest. You guys think because you're bad prospect goalie had a good two months he's now elite. You think Dion is who he was a bunch of years ago. You think Bozak is actually good . You think Phil Kessel is a stud. Seriously, you guys are just not a good team. At all.

Maybe what was said was a little harsh. However I do agree that a lot of toronto fans are delusional if they think they have a chance to land BR.

I definitely dont want that to be a plan B, but you have to think that Connolly is definitely waiting for Richards to sign to set his price. Im sure hes talking to teams already about an idea of how much he could command, but they are probably waiting for Richards to set the market for him

BTW, cant wait for Richards to sign somewhere just to see the Boards explode. No matter where he signs the teams who didnt get him will end up saying "whew good thing, i didnt want him anyways" and the team that does get him will be saying "we definitely just overpaid for him, but hey hes a great player"

I like our chances better than Toronto's...but after all the insanity today (I mean, Jagr in Philly!?!?) - it would be about right that something completely bonkers like Richards to Toronto would end the day.

I've said all along, its not signing Richards to big money that scares me, its the 9+ mil in cap room after RFA raises that will be burning a hole in Sather's pocket if he doesn't get Richards that scares me.

possible simple negotiation move by Sather?? Perhaps this is Sather saying times have changed and we won't just throw 8 years at 7.5 at you...If you want to be a Ranger we'll come to a mutual understanding if not enjoy being under the microscope of Toronto or 3rd liner in L.A
