There's no need to rub it in anyone's faces. I just want him signed and for this to be over. Then move onto a scoring LWer

He's probably using the other offers to squeeze a little extra out of Sather.

Yeah I think Sherman actually came out and said Stastny won't be moved but the rumors persist on HF haha. Oh well if we miss out, we will find a way to get a marginal upgrade at least.

Let's say the Flames are offering 7.1 a year, which they are based on their offer. If we are offering 6.5 a year, why not bump it up the extra 600K to make it a LOCK. I'd rather have Richards as a LOCK than hope that he's bluffing and then get disappointed when he signs somewhere else.

It's probably more like the flames are offering 8 or 9 years to the Rangers 5, and not so much a cap hit difference.

So let's meet a middle ground. If the Flames are offering 9 years, and we are offering 5, offer him 6 or 7 years. Honestly, I just want Richards on this ****ing team

I still think the Rangers offer is something like 6 years, 40.5 mill.

@DarrenDreger says Flames very much in it for Richards. I still think it'll be the Rangers when all said and done.

Depends. Entirely possible is that Brad is just trying to get the Rangers to up their offer, and has every intention of signing there from the get go. That would be his agent's brain working, and not Brad's.

If that is the case, then either Sather can call the bluff and get him for the correct contract, or will cave and sacrifice some extra cash. That is what, based on the scattered info we have received, I THINK is going on here.

That is why NYR are privileged with last "Match our best offer" rights

That is why Richard's camp is dangling Calgary's reported 9 year, 63 million offer.

That is why every indication so far is that Richards's frontrunning team is the Rangers.

Maybe the teams that are "out" got a sniff of what was going on, and decided to not waste their time.

He's not signing with Calgary. Richards camp is just using them to try to get more money from rangers.

If that's accurate RT @xcdudesquad: @stevezipay Apparently Calgary is offering 9 years 64 mil. Wow.

We are so not getting Richards.

Just remember you said that when he is 38 and scores 35 points while making 7.1 million on the cap.......

Your feeling right there is why the Rangers were in such a difficult cap situation with Drury, Gomez and Redden. If the player wants to play in NYC, then give him a very solid offer, negotiate, but you have to have a ceiling.

Given Sather's track record, does anyone doubt which of these two things he will do?
