To be honest I probably wouldn't take said money if someone just told me I could have it tomorrow in exchange for living out my prime years in Calgary.

I mean I'm sure I would if I was living in a box on the street and eating out of garbage cans, but not much past that.

Sather should stick to his guns and call his bluff. You want to play for the New York Rangers with a very good deal in hand or you can go to Calgary for more money and wait for their 10 year rebuild, bad weather and fantastic travel schedule. He is just using Calgary to up the ante. There is no way Richards want to go to Calgary.

Take it or leave it.

richards' camp are pumping Dreger and McKenzie hard getting them to release tweets to try and twist Glen's arm.

Stay strong Glen. Stay strong sweet prince.

IF Richards ended up in CGY, plan would be to play him with Iginla and Tanguay. Iginla said to be active in lobbying Richards.

No wonder he always beats me.

I make mine look legit and nice and easy to read and BB just throws it done and makes it unnoticeable

Who wants to play for Calgary? They have an aging Kipper, Tanguay, and Iggy, they traded away on of their best D-men in Reghgr, they have no depth, and their prospect pool is terrible.

Where is the upside aside from money? They would still be a fringe playoff team w Richards.

Calgary literally has NO future, what could possibly be appealing about going there to END his career??

Probably more 6 years, 60 million in reality according to Bobby Mac. We'll find out soon enough.

If he signs in a CGY, I'll just laugh. For a guy who pretty much implied that he wanted an easy schedule and to be on the east coast...and then to take a contract in Calgary...i'd laugh.

If Calgary is truly the highest bidder and Richards was somewhat interested in playing for the Flames then he would've signed it already. Hopefully our imbecile GM realizes this.

What a lobby.

"Hey, come here for the rest of your career and watch mine flame out (no pun intended) as we both struggle to drag an otherwise mediocre team into the playoffs in a conference where almost every team is good enough to make the playoffs every year."

Give me a break.

Yeah, NY would appear to clearly offer the better short term opportunity for success. If it all comes down to dollars I hope he enjoys spending the next decade up north.
