Sens fan here,

Ryan was one of the reasons our AHL team won the cup.

Not sure how well he translates into the NHL (He did it in Edmonton) but he is a hell of a player for your AHL team. Good signing.

The Caps didn't really do bugger all for the Bears last year, barring a goalie, so they probably owed their affiliate a large. This certainly qualifies.

It's a great AHL signing and a decent depth signing. One thing - the title says 2 way but as you note in the text, the second year is one way.

His brother, Grant, played part of a season for Hershey a few years ago.

Well the title also says Hershey but its a Caps contract. I just wanted people glancing to not think this was some 3rd liner they hadn't heard of. People who actually click will, as you point out, learn more.

Thought I recognized the last name, but didn't see Hershey in his career stats. Him having a brother explains it. Cool.

Did he play center or wing? Seems he's played a lot at both. I think he was used as a wing in Philly. College and juniors he was used at both I think.
