Wolski - Who else thinks.....

That HE is going to get a LEGIT shot at this top line LW.

We know he has skill, maybe playing with two elite players (hopefully assuming we get Richards) may bring out something we have not seen from him.

Maybe being trusted with top line responsibilities and some decent PP time we can get from him that (for the most part) untapped potential he has.

It would be the best option as we can keep the assets we have and allow him to walk at the end of the season as we usher in our system depth.

This the Org. is better off not wasting assets for a top line winger we may already have.

I don't think he'll be a Ranger when camp starts. It's clear Tortarella isn't a big fan, with good reason, t he guy is a huge floater. If he didn't get it last season after burning through his head that it was time to bring a real work ethic and play all 3 zones after two teams sent him packing because of it despite their annual need for scoring wingers, he's not going to get it.

If we can't get our 5 RFA's signed while staying under the cap, which I think is going to be the challenge, W2 is the first to go.

I also think top LW spot will be Dubinsky's to lose. He's earned it.

I honestly believe now, that the first to go would be Avery. 1.9 is a decent sum to shed.

No this guy sucks, he needs to go. I'd rather have Rosi at this point.

are you serious? This guy has a lot of skill and has shown it plenty of times. He just has a consistency issue, and he was playing third and forth line minutes last season

totally agree. imo he is here right now as insurance in case we can't add that winger we want. if we have the chance to do that wolski will either be dealt to a team trying to get to floor or bought out during august period.

basically put his $4 mil to a guy that deserves it

I would like for him to have ATLEAST one full training camp run by Torts. This way, Wolski gets to understand exactly what torts wants, will be in shape as torts wants him to be and will have a full season. Not midway through joining a neo-nazi coach who thinks you need to give EVERYTHING and completely understand the coaches wants.

Wolski showed flashes of talent. In the P.O.'s he played well.

lets see what a full training camp run by crazy man-tort's can do for him

Conflicted about Wolski. I don't particularly care for him as a player, but his talent is tempting. With that in mind, guys that carry the "enigmatic" or "inconsistent" labels are poor fits for our club. I can see that Torts is no fan already.

If he was given a shot on the top line, I wouldn't be upset. At the same time, I still expect him to be moved at some time before the start of the season.

I think he should get another shot because he's shown that he wants to improve. He's taking skating lessons with Underhill and has shown his commitment to the team.

That being said, I don't think he'll be a Ranger come training camp.

Why no Love for Simon Gagne?
Gagne-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Wolski-Stephan-Zuccarello
Rupp-Boyle-Prust
or switch Dubinsky and Gagne and use Gagne on PP Unit 1.
Could'nt we get him for 3/9M or 4/10M?

Gagne has averaged 56 games per year over the last four seasons. That's a dangerous proposition, counting on Gagne and Gaborik as your top wings.

If Gagne is around in another week or so and we can get him on a Frolov-type deal, he might be worth a gamble. Anything for multiple years though is too much of a risk. IMO.

If he improves his skating and we get Richards he has a shot at doing that but we'll see what happens tomorrow before we can discuss all of that.

You basically nailed it in your post, consistency. And there is a reason he was playing bottom 6 minutes.

That is if we use the cap space wisely. If we don't sign Richards and have about 3 mil cap space, we would have been the better team with Roszival than Wolski

I never seen so many people write a guy off after 40 something games at the age of 25. Who else is a better option than Wolski? A realistic option people. Some of the same posters I see wanting Wolski gone are some of the ones I saw today hoping on Andrew Brunette coming to NY today.

No, he doesn't fit that line. Richards and Gaborik are both finesse type players. That line needs someone with some grit that is skilled. They need someone to go into corners, crash the net etc. That is not Wolski's game. Dubi is perfect to play with them.

Plus Torts doesn't trust Wolski defensively. He wont put Wolski on the top line. Their is a better chance he puts Fedotenko with them than Wolski.
