Big move that Sbaicker and Eklund were reporting

This was no mistake. Acquiring this player will make this team unstoppable and we shall wreak our havoc upon the hockey world. We aren't talking about Stamkos, Weber, Yandle or Doughty. We are speaking of an even more immense acquisition. This player is none other than King Anton. Prepare his crown and throne, this legend is our savior. (We could possibly fit him in though if we got one of the actual players that we woulld be interested in, such as the afforementioned players)

I think Holmgren should go with this line-up for this season; and then next season rebuild again... and then again. It's so damn entertaining.

If we acquire The Anton, we can trade Pronger, and Timonen for two large bags of pucks for The Anton to fire at victim goaltenders...

We will win 81 games by forfeit. The stubborn Ducks will try to beat us once and fail miserably.

Sign The Anton and trade Carle. Then use the cap space saved from Carle to build a dwelling place worthy enough for the King.

Exactly my thoughts. I'm already beginning to study my oaths that I must recite to enter his kingdom.

Well, The Source did clearly state to "think bigger" so Anton must be the answer.

Andreas Lilja was signed for 2 years and not 1, even though that's a low cap hit, and with rumors yesterday of a new deal for Coburn, it lends credence that Carle or Meszaros is involved in whatever is going on (remember that rumor that no one wanted to believe?). You figure the Flyers already have 6 defensemen under contract currently after the upcoming season, plus assuming Gustafsson is playing -- not every can play.

Wouldn't shock me either of the Flyers were involved for Yandle, which rumors started coming up overnight. One of the TSN guys alluded to Yandle not wanting to sign a long-term deal with the Coyotes because of their shaky future, so that's why I say it would be Meszaros too because he has term.

Signing Babchuk and trading Carle for assets would be great IMO.

I just hope this big move they are talking about has something to do with the great Steve Downie.

Michael Jordan will be signing a two year contract at a fair cap hit and will be playing guard for the Flyers this upcoming season! I CANNOT WAIT!

Big Move.

Paul Holmgren comes out and announces he has no idea what he is doing right now.

Anton Babchuk. Big defenseman, huge slapper from the blueline, capable of scoring double digit goals.

Cons = not great defensively, not very physical.

For the right price i wouldn't mind him as a 5/6 with some PP time.

But Lilja seems to have squashed the chances of Anton coming here.

Word.

This team was in game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals a year ago.

It was arguably the best team in the NHL for the first 4-5 months last year.

That team is now in simmering ruins.

Its mindblowing what has happened to this franchise the past 2 weeks.

Overreact much? Simmering in ruins?

Carter and Richards were good players but they were hardly unreplaceable.

There are only a handful of players with either's skill sets. Richards is one of the best PKers of his generation, and Carter has been one of the best goal scorers of the last few years. They have not been replaced.

Carter has been a good regular season scorer. I want goals in the playoffs too.
