3 years. I give this guy and his concussions in this division 3 years. I'll be shocked if he makes it past that.

Prove me wrong.
How about you prove that he's actually going to do all the stuff you said. Show me where in his career that points to this being inevitable as you make it seem.

You have no idea what your talking about.

I must say I like it. He'll retire before those nine years are up, I'm sure.

Let's bring the Cup home.

PRETTY EASY ACTUALLY

NONE of that has happened yet. No one is right YET. Your position is stated, now how about you actually root for "your team" to do well & save the I TOLD YOU SO's for 4-5 years from now.

Well then we throw him on LTIR and had 3 years of a first line center. Don't see the problem here.

EDIT: and it turns out it's actually $6.33 AAV?!?!?! That's pretty much down at what I had as the no-brainer level. Go jump in a lake, Brooksie.

Someone needs to smack him upside the head...I swore the hit would be in the area $7 million...$6.33 million, simply awesome. The years mean nothing. And, I believe Richards will be productive late into the contract. He's be the perfect bridge for allowing Step to properly develop at the right pace, and should have a positive effect on Step's development.

Not even close but this is pretty awesome. For the first time I can remember a player left money on the table elsewhere to come to NY. Makes me feel pretty damn good.

$6.5? Take it and don't look back. He took a day to mull his options and then decided. No prima donna grandstanding. Bravo Richards. Welcome to ny.

Man, Brad must not have wanted the pressure of having a huge cap hit. Which is why he'll succeed here. At 6.5M per he's definitely not overpaid. Thus, he's in less danger of being scrutinized if he goes on a cold streak.

Full contract is 9 years, 58.5m... 6.5m cap hit.

Term is long, but I'll take it.

Very difficult in this day and age to have the former without the latter.
