Nothing on the Dwyer Sign out front yet. I don't think they have finalized the schedule. I know the guy at NU that coordinates everything with the Sabres so I'll send him a message.

This year I plan to hold the 1st annual Sabres Prospect Camp Party. I live 2 blocks from Dwyer Arena and thought it would be nice to sit on the back porch and have a few beers and some eats while discussing the prospects. We live right next to the State Park along the woods and can get a campfire going.

So, this is an open invitation to all us HF Sabres Fans. I dont know the date and time yet but I will post it here when I get the camp schedule with times. I am targeting perhaps Saturday or if they have an evening session on Thur or Fri.

The following tentative schedule of on-ice workouts is open to the public at Dwyer Arena.

Wednesday, July 6 – 9:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Thursday July 7 – 9:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
Friday, July 8 – 9:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Saturday, July 9 – 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 10 – 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Please note that the July 9 and 10 on-ice sessions are schedule to be intra-squad scrimmages. All times are subject to change and any updates will be posted at Sabres.com.

I will be holding the party on Saturday right after the camp session for that day ends.
Let me know if you plan to come so I can make sure there is enough to eat and drink.

Yeah that sucks. I'll be going on the weekend but it'd be nice to have something like this to look forward to after work during the week.

Not sure about Wednesday or Thursday, but I'll be there for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's sessions. I have a feeling that Catenacci's going to take Gerbe's place as the most popular player at Development Camp.

Agreed. Very excited to see this kid, especially with a chip on his shoulder and jets on his feet.

This may be a stupid question but has Buffalo made public any of their non drafted invitees? I know on NHL.com, the list of undrafted Sea Dogs had already been invited to camps. I say we invite all the centers from the list that chain provided and that Stastny guy could even play for the farm too.

Not yet. They typically do so the week prior to camp (this week). Perhaps if Baker has any insight into the roster makeup, he could chime in.

Perhaps they decided to spell-check the names for a change.

Not sure what day, but I'll definitely take the trip up there. I've done it three years in a row now, and it's always great.

Is it ridiculous to think Tyler Ennis could be in attendance? Last year, Myers was there even though it was clear he was on the NHL squad (and the best defenseman already...), and a few years back (2008?) I remember Drew Stafford went.

Change of Plans

Slight change of plans for Saturday. Looking at our beer thread made me realize I would be hard pressed to cover enough bases.

So, I propose a post camp meet-up at The Brickyard in Lewiston. It is only a few miles down Lewiston Road from NU and they have 25 beers on tap and 75+ bottles. They rotate the list often.

They also have amazing BBQ, including smoked wings (I am a purist, but these are amazing). When ordering a dish you get the choice of 2 sides, and on the list of possible sides is a shot of bourbon! Nice. They recently got 4 stars in a newspaper review.

They have an outside patio, so presuming the weather is nice we could meet there after camp around 1:00pm.

Here is their website: http://www.brickyardpub.com/

I am also planning on trying to run a twitter feed on camp days. Not sure if there is interest, or how seemless a procedure it will be, but I'll give it a go.

If I didn't work Saturday that would sound awesome. Maybe I'll check it out whatever day I get up there.

Ill be relying on some good indepth observatiosn from you guys this year. First year I wont be able to make it to a full practice due to their being no afternoon sessions.

Hoping to make it for the tail end of the Sunday scrimmage, moreso just to work on my Sabres rookie autograph collection

Bakes thinks that Phil Varone is getting an invite.
I really wanted Barclay Goodrow too (he's Catenacci's good friend and was highly touted coming out of MM) but he is attending Carolina's camp.

FYI, the main lot at Niagara (adjacent to the Dwyer Lot) is gone as they are tearing it up to put in the new Gollisano Science Center. The Dwyer lot is currently being expanded so space will be limited during the camp.

The kid always scores tons of points in juniors in my EHM games, but can never put it together in the NHL.
