Gilroy is a class-act. I wish him NOTHING but the best. I hope if we dont win the Stanley Cup, that the Lightning does and Gilroy is on the roster during the playoffs.
He is a super nice guy. It just didnt work out here for him
Kinda surprised he did not sign with the Islanders. I thought they were the NHL dump that collected all the rejects who are borderline AHL/NHL players.
So it didn't work out for him in NY. But it didn't cost us anything so I have no regrets. Good luck to him in TB.
Yup. No complaints here. It was a low-risk move that had the potential to pay off, but didn't.
I have nothing against Matt, and he always seemed like a nice guy. Good luck to him against everyone but us. Hopefully he doesn't score many typical ex-Ranger revenge goals.

ditto....had high hopes when he was hyped coming into the league....still remember his preseason skating, shooting, moves and such.....was hoping for a Leetch-lite type of offensive defenseman.......guess Poti-caliber players don't just grow on trees...

Wouldn't have minded Gilroy back at 1 million for 1 year one bit...makes me wonder what Sather's offer was. I had a friend who knew Gilroy's cousin, said Gilroy and Torts never really got along well. Wouldn't be surprised.
Wish him the best, but I'm not sad to see him go. Even though he was making some progress at the end of last season, he really wasn't all that good. That plus with the depth that the Rangers have on D, there's just no room for him.

Seems to me that there are people in hockey who have a different view of Gilroy. Starting with Tampa's GM (who has a lot of experience in evaluating talent).
