I'd be interested in this:
Dubinsky - Richards - Gaborik
Boyle - Anisimov - Callahan

I would moderately overpay for Booth.

So add to it if need be.

No Kreider, Miller, McIlrath.

No Callahan, Dubinsky, Stepan, Staal, Girardi, McDonagh, Sauer, Erixon

I hope we keep DZ but if we moved him Valentenko can slide in and Eminger likely is back for cheap as the spare D

I play LW and would sign a considerably cheap contract.

Booth? Sure but not at that price need I remind you he missed 45 games with a concussion last year and then missed the last 9 of the year with either a new concussion or symptoms stemming from the first.

He's not wanted in FLA for some reason I think he can be had for less.

Staal, McD, Erixon, MDZ all play LD. If any are traded I hope it's MDZ.

Rick Nash.

How we get him, and furthermore how we fit him under the cap is utterly beyond me.

doubt they trade Nash/price would be too high.
Think Speeza as OTT is transition rebuild team, but it might cost you Mcdonagh or MDZ+Picks.
I like Gagne if we could get him for 3/8.5M Ballpark.
We keep our young talent this way and might be able to trade odd man out Wolski/Avery for a Pick.

SETTLE DOWN. Typo last year!

Edit: I said last year... Either way not 2010-2011 but 2009-2010. Still a lot of time missed due to concussion.

Like I said I think he can be had cheaper than you proposed.

Any chance at switching Christian Thomas to the left side and giving him a chance to ride with Gaborik and Richards? That would be an ideal place for such a young player with his shot to play.

No way. Look at what Columbus has done this off-season. They finally got a Center for Nash. They definitely want to compete this year.

Maybe trading for Parise?

Or maybe Ryan Clowe from SJ?

Or make our number one LW prospect ditch college?

Having so many possibilities is a GOOD thing, very GOOD problem to have

The names being thrown around in this thread are utterly hilarious.

This isn't fantasy league hockey.

I have no idea who, if anyone, will be targeted as our top line LW, but I sure as hell know that the names being thrown around in here aren't going to happen.

Seriously . . . have people watched Richards and Gaborik play before? Penciling in guys like Hemsky or Christian Thomas on that line makes zero sense.

That line has plenty of offensive talent. Now you need to add some balance by giving it a defensive responsible player than will forecheck hard, dig pucks out of corners, and crash the net.

While Dubinsky isn't as talented as either guy, he would be a great fit with Richards and Gaborik. If Booth didn't have such serious injury concerns, or Iginla wasn't 34 years old, they'd also be viable candidates. But those concerns do exist, and adding their contracts with those risks would not be a prudent move.

If a better candidate than Dubinsky becomes available, absolutely make a move and shift Dubinsky back to the second line. However, as it stands, I don't see that player being available. I have no doubt that the player is not Hemsky or Christian Thomas. Unless we are confident about Booth's health, I don't think it's him either, and unless we're going all in this year, I don't think it's Iginla.

We got the big fish. That does not mean we need to go add another big fish. In fact, I think we're much, much better continuing with the core we have for the immediate future.

I think signing Rupp and bringing back Fedotenko means Sather is shopping Boyle...what I think a package of Boyle + Wolski + Mid-tier prospect could bring us though?

Who knows.

It wouldn't shock me if Sather and Torts open that spot up to competition in camp for guys like Dubinsky, Wolski, Avery, and Zucc's to compete for.
