They damn sure got paid like super stars.

I hated both deals since it happened. Hated Gomez less than Dru since Gomez atleast showed some grit on the ice.

Welcome to Broadway Brad! But to earn this deal you have to not only play well, but get that guy on your right to play really, really well.

More moves to come I believe.

Those last 2 or 3 years could be worth $1M each in salary.
lol, the kovalchuk amendment doesn't mean crap. Most of the long term deals have a salary of 1 mil for the last few years. The devils got greedy and wanted far too many years at LEAGUE MINIMUM.

What do you mean Sather had no leverage whatsoever?

It was pretty clear to everyone that Richards really was intrigued by NY, so I would think that would give us quite a bit of leverage.

BTW, if there was any question about who the worst Ranger beat writer is, look at this tweet from Strickland, the first to break the Richards signing -

I'm sorry but Richards is dumb. I know it's NY and the nightlife is great but how do you say no to an LA team that is stacked for years to come, that id a LEGIT threat to become an elite team for years, and I mean it's LA.

Anus congrats to you guys on getting him. I do wonder if Gabby will hit that 100 point plateau now that he has the true #1 center that we could never get him.

If you guys make the playoffs you will go pretty deep.

Spent 10 minutes on the trade board and had to come back here its unbearable. it consists of

- Rangers back to their old ways
- Rangers trying to buy the cup
- Rangers cant groom home grown talent
- Marty vs Hank

Thank god i rarely visit anyplace on here apart from the Rangers board

I understand things take some time but has anyone gotten any quotes from Richards, his agency, or anyone besides Del Zotto and Stepan welcoming him?

Fedotenko wore 17 when they were together in TB. I wonder how that will play out

Edit: BB, I don't like that we're thinking about the same things at the same time.
Feds will still be wearing #19, no?

I hope he sticks with #91

There was a pic with Richards wearing #91 someplace on here yesterday and it just looked right.

With Richards and Gaborik, we may now have the fastest first line in hockey, regardless of who plays LW.

Biron welcomed him, too. If Dreger, Strickland, Brooks et al are reporting it, it's a done deal.

Richards is probably flying to New York to sign/presser.
