Who knows.

It wouldn't shock me if Sather and Torts open that spot up to competition in camp for guys like Dubinsky, Wolski, Avery, and Zucc's to compete for.
Argh I think Boyle deserves to be back so I hope not.

Unless the perfect fit can be acquired I say fight it out in camp with the current group

It'd be terrific if we could get a player like Umberger or Ladd. Not sure how willing Columbus/Winnipeg is to move them. Is MacArthur a free agent?

can someone explain why the hell David Booth is thought of so highly around here that we would give them Wolski + DZ + a prospect/pick? What's so special about this guy

Booth could be had for cheap. Wolski and a prospect probably.

Call me crazy, but what about Weiss and then converting him to LW?
No?

I think that was more DStep than Wheeler. Stepan has had great chemistry with everyone he's played with save for Gaborik in the short stint they had together.

Stepan played very well this season with Wolski, Zuccs, Avery, and Fedotenko. He's a special kind of player that can make those around him better.

I had forgotten about MacArthur. Could also be a good piece with Richards/Gaborik

It just occurred to me that saying "Richards/Gaborik" is no longer a what could be, it's a what is. I'm so happy right now!

It should be beautiful, I also don't understand why we are thinking so hard about a LW for them either. If no moves are made its Dubinsky and he adds the sandpaper we want

Wolski did pretty good with Stepan.......add Cally to that?

Boyle would be a big winder for AA and lets say Feds

Avery, Rupp, Prust can cause havoc

Have Hagelin ,Zuke, Mitchell, Newbury, Weise, Kolarik as depth

looks good as is for me but like anyone else yes I wonder if Sather will find a dealio

Guys, we just pulled off a UFA bank robbery in getting Richards without giving up assets as many wanted to do last season.

Lets not go all Flyers and start trading away most of the team to find a superstar LW. I say stay the course, re-sign Eminger and that's it. Let Dubinsky have a shot at the top line and see what happens.

I want no part of Booth. We're talking about a guy that has never been the same after his concussion. Why so many are willing to throw picks and prospects away for him, I have no idea.

That line has plenty of offensive talent. Now you need to add some balance by giving it a defensive responsible player than will forecheck hard, dig pucks out of corners, and crash the net.

While Dubinsky isn't as talented as either guy, he would be a great fit with Richards and Gaborik. If Booth didn't have such serious injury concerns, or Iginla wasn't 34 years old, they'd also be viable candidates. But those concerns do exist, and adding their contracts with those risks would not be a prudent move.

If a better candidate than Dubinsky becomes available, absolutely make a move and shift Dubinsky back to the second line. However, as it stands, I don't see that player being available. I have no doubt that the player is not Hemsky or Christian Thomas. Unless we are confident about Booth's health, I don't think it's him either, and unless we're going all in this year, I don't think it's Iginla.

We got the big fish. That does not mean we need to go add another big fish. In fact, I think we're much, much better continuing with the core we have for the immediate future.
The pack line of Dubi-AA-Cally was outstanding last season, if you can find a way to add a top line winger without sacrificing one of those 3, you do it....a hypothetical top line of 3 superstars like Iginla-Richards-Gaborik followed by a young emerging line of Dubi-AA-Cally would make the Rangers one of the most formidable teams in the NHL.

You may have to give up one of your coveted prospects to do it, but the Rangers now, finally, have all the pieces to make a legitimate run at the Stanley Cup.

Andrew Ladd would look mighty good on that top line.

Just tossing this out there, and I'm not necessarily sure if I even think it's a good idea, but Avery has shown chemistry with Gaborik and he's good friends with Richards, why not give Avery a try at LW with them and see if it clicks?

That is if we can't trade or sign for a better option into training camp.

I can see it now. Avery the 20 goal scorer pissing off the fanbases of 29 other teams on HFboards.

Sorry for the capslock. I hit the uppercase arrow on my virtual keypad to start a sentence and the dang thing stayed that way. If you saw my repeat post I was trying to correct it.

This isn't fantasy league hockey.

Not sure if you consider Booth a big name, but from what I read he's available via trade.

He would be an outstanding addition to the core here.

He can score 25-30 goals, he's fast, has size, and plays 100% every shift.

Booth would be perfect.

Doubt it.

Tortorella didn't give him that opportunity last year, what would change his opinion of Wolski now?

I know his numbers are a bit off, but anyone think Samsonov has any gas left in the tank for a 1yr deal?
