This is what fans do. If they didn't they would not be fans. This is the same for the Buffalo Bills, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Edmonton Oilers, LA Lakers. It just would not be much fun to cheer for a team that you hate. Do you hate the Toronto Maple Leafs?

I ask because I gave up on the Leafs from 1981 until 1990 when Harold Ballard died. In the meantime I stopped watching hockey altogether; the Leafs were just too abysmal and I refused to cheer for the Islanders, Oilers or Canadians. Since Burns was hired I gradually became so much a fan that I rarely watch football now.

My family has been Notre Dame boosters since the mid-1950s. I refused to follow Notre Dame under Bob Davie and Willingham after his second year because I had serious misgivings about Notre Dame management. But, Weis is making me a believer again.

Now, are you really a Maple Leaf fan and just temporarily disenchanted? Or are you a poser?

A) We don't have a first line, we have 3.
B) Czerkawski plays well (well, he plays well offensively) when he has a decent centre

Man, how did you last 17 years as a fan of any team let alone the beloved Buds. I only have one question, how come it took you 17 years to figure out you hate the Buds, hate there fans and have obviously become a bitter person ??? You must be a very slow learner !!!

You have 3 first lines????

Wouldn't it be better to say you have 3 second lines??

I'd say 2 - 2nd lines and 1 3rd line.

Fine, we have 3 2nd lines. Probably more accurate.

Sundin, Lindros, Allison, and O'Neill would be first line players on any team in the league.

In all fairness the majority of our wingers would not.

First lines are seldom made up of three stars. There was always Gretzky, Kurri and some other guy; Hull, Oates, and SOG, etc. SOG is usually the player to muck around in the corners and get the puck to the goal scorers.

Mostly 2nd liners,

Czerkawski was first line with NY? Second, w.e.
Tucker had 59 points two seasons ago, and 21 goals last.. 2nd or maybe 1st on a weak team.
O'Neill is a 1st liner for sure.
Ponikarovsky is a 2nd.
Antropov is a 2nd or 1st, if he gets better.
Stajan is a sophomore.

Here's hoping for Tucker on Sundins line with Czerkawsky, if that's how it's gonna play out. I like Allison Oneill and Steen, or Stajan. And Lindros, Antropov, Ponikarovsky as a third line. I see the top three lines getting pretty even time, and the fourth avg. about 12 min a game, maybe less.

Poni is a third liner, Antropov is a 2nd on a weak team, 3rd on a strong one, Stajan, as you said is a sophomore.

Is Ponikarovsky really a 2nd line winger?? I mean he only as 12 career goals!!!

As for Antropov I don't think he has what it takes to be a first line winger, even if he does improve. His career average is below 0.5 points per game. He has the tools, but I think max potential is 2nd liner.

Quinn can choose to balance the lines as he seems to like to do, or in situations where it's needed put one of his 3 big centres on the wing, and have two solid lines. The powerplay should be good on the leafs with the offensive guys they have.

I really hate players who aren't willing to at least try on the back check, incredibly frustrating.

You will regret saying that soon enough

Even for 500k its a waste.Hell i rather have Dagenais than Czerk( and trust me IMO Dagenais is a piece of crap who take a roster spot when we have good young player waiting for an opportunity....i am really not a fan of Dagenais)

Czerkawski was good 2 years ago when he was helped by Kvasha.

But imo Czer is just a waste.

He seemed to only totally suck in Montreal though, so who knows. For the low price and small commitment, I'm willing to gamble.

Who knows, Sundin might even play up to Kvasha level this year
