Are you familiar with how Paul Holmgren operates? He is uncomfortable with Cap flexibility. He MUST spend to the cap.

JP Dumont anyone? Pretty sure Briere would like to have his buddy back on his line.

What? If the Flyers were a team with a limited budget than I would see a correlation. The reason Read probably has a oen way contract is because that's what it took to get him to sign with the Flyers (so he could make the full value of his deal even if he was playing in the AHL).

Homer has nightmares about having cap room.

3.5 is not an overpayment. Especially with the how contracts were being handed out this FA.

Well one more reason to root for LA!

One way contracts only impact how much a player makes. They're paying him the same amount whether he's in the AHL or NHL. It's entirely irrelevant in this context.

The problem is Lappy's 1.16 million is going to be on the LTIR. So they would have to spend under the cap in excess of that before they would start to accrue cap space.

From the way he makes it sound, it sounds like he's with people he knows and that makes him feel good. And considering how much Philly history is involved with the players and managements there, they pretty much are the Philadelphia of the West Coast.

Best of wishes to Gagne.

This broke my heart, I'm sure getting to play with Richards again peaked his interest. But I wish him nothing but the best out there. Maybe in 2 years he'll come back home.

I think if you shook Simon Gagne his head would rattle.

He could have fit....I think he was going there the entire time to be honest.

Whose "dream is over"?

Gagne is the past. The Flyers have obviously decided that the past isn't worth reliving. The past was a fail. It's time to move on.

Yeah, going to miss "Gagne is out with a neck problem, it is related to his head and he also has headaches."

Stats in LA- 60games 12g 22assists= 34pts

Even though all three played in different cities last season, the brotherly love flowed freely between the likely linemates this weekend.

"I'm really good friends with Justin. We kept in touch when he got traded to Carolina," Gagne said. "We kind of kept in touch last year, all year long. He texted me yesterday that L.A. could be a good fit, that they were looking for a left winger, and he was kind of pushing for me to sign in L.A.

Today, I had a chance to talk to Mike Richards this morning, and it was the same thing on his side. He said, `You know, we could play again on the same line and do all the good stuff we did in Philly in the past.'

"I kind of got excited a little bit and I know that my agent and the Kings were talking at the same time."
