Neuvirth is capable, but as evidenced over the past couple of years they need a solid number 1. Neuvirth has played 70 games in the NHL and his numbers aren't overly impressive for such a small amount of games, Vokun is a legit #1 who has only played 2 playoff series with nashville but over 630 regular season games. He is the goalie they have needed since Kolzig left and he is only on a 1 year deal so he will be playing for a contract.

Their defense is more than Mike Green, they also have Alzhner and Carlson and just picked up an old but veteran Hamrlik, likely to teach the young guys a thing or two. And lets not forget about their stud Poti

Again I still think the caps with a legit number 1 goalie and a solid backup who can give him lots of rest are a scary team, much better than last year.

Random question, but does Yandle play LD or RD?

I focused on Green because he gets some much dough but he is invisible in the postseason. If he is going to be their main guy back there he needs to have more of an impact.

UNREAL!

And they could end up with a top-5 or top-10 pick too from that trade with Avs.

Philly must be kicking themselves seeing Vokoun sign for that cheap.

Jets sign Andrew Ladd to a new contract.
Looks like Ladd isn't a potential trade target anymore (although he never was a realistic one to begin with).

Jeez, with the contracts being handed out now, I would hope the Rangers can grab Kaberle or Hannan on the cheap for their 3rd pairing.

The ONLY way I take Kaberle is if he is taking 3rd pair minutes on a cheap 1 year deal. He takes the 1 year deal to bring up his stock and get more money next summer. I doubt it happens though.

Philly really misjudged the goaltending market this year. I'm going to be rooting hard for Colorado next year. I dont want to see Washington get another high pick in a very good draft year.

I'd only take Kaberle on a 1 year deal worth less than 3 mil a year.

An d that ain't happening.

I would do Kaberle @ 2.5-3 million and Hannan @ 1.8-2.5 million. Either one for one season.

Big pass on that one. The Rangers have depth on defense and if they don't like Wolski just move him for a pick or don't re-sign him. Ballrd's contract is forever!

So, with Kaberle signing that contract, is that the last major pitfall avoided? I mean, barring any ridiculous, Jeff-Finger-esque deals, we are pretty much out of the woods, UFA-wise - correct?

Can't look at it that way. Kaberle was an UFA. Anyone could have signed him. Likewise, there was no requirement to trade Corvo to his former team.

Wish the Rangers had been in on Corvo - he would've been the perfect "one vet D" for this team. Especially since he's a righty shot and can play on the PP. ESPECIALLY since he only cost a 4th rounder. Guess they're really planning to run with all homegrown D-men?

#Leafs lock up Clarke MacArthur. A 2 year deal believed to be worth 6.5M.
