Which I'll be fine with until the day winning fights count the same as goals. Granted I respect anyone that drops the gloves especially some of the crap Brads was able to put up with but people have to realize that more often then not hockey fights serve more to entertain the fans.

Only on occasion do they show purpose like when Ovi dropped the gloves against the Rangers to send a message to his teammates that they way they were playing was not acceptable. Or ironically when Brads went speeding off the bench so we didn't risk loosing Ovi to something stupid like a broken finger or hand. Then there clear cases of retribution like when Shawn Thorton went after Cooke for his hit on Savard. However those types of situations are very few and far between.

Fights like Big John vs Rupp at the Winter Classic after a routine hit are more along the lines of "why not?" Guys that simply enjoy fighting and getting the crowd riled up. As long as we have guys that are willing to hit and keep us in the top half of the league in that category we won't have to worry about teams mistaking us as "soft."

Personally I'll always remember Brads the way he was described on 24/7. As one of, if not, our best defensive forward.

All these changes...it's like I don't even know this team anymore.

Good stuff but the fonder memories are those of Semin's unthinkably good wrister and classic Ovi. Sick deke.

I have looked all over this forum for months and have found no place for a virgin to get her feet wet, content to be a lurker (if any of y'all could help me out with where I should go to contribute my meager input--lowly n00b that I am, please let me know), but I can't let the leaving of Brads pass without comment.

I just want to know who the hell else on this team is going to be so damn funny--plus so badass? Brads's wit is irreplaceable on this team! Ovi is very funny--more and more intentionally so as his English has improved (I actually think he's a very witty guy), but Brads seemed to take it upon himself to make sure that the locker room always laughed.

Treat him well, Panthers, he's a gem.

Best of luck Brads. You held on for longer than I expected honestly. Solid role player and team guy.

I'll miss Brads. Great heart and always gave his all. Damn funny as well. Hope he got decent $$$ in Florida.

My favourite moments of him were when he scored two on Henrik to turn that series around, the time he won the shootout (*Ugh*) versus Edmonton and when he stood up for Ovie and fought Downie in his stead.

He is one of the good ones. I think he'd make a decent coach one day.

I'm keeping his avatar until the Caps win the Cup though.

Thank you for Bradley. We haven't had a guy like him on our team for a decade

I just wanted to add a shout-out to Brads.

The kind of guy you need on a team.

Best of luck in Florida!

Farewell Professor. One of the better depth guys to have on a rebuilding club.
