Glass hasn't played for the Moose, according to his hockeydb page.

Thanks. Just wondering if there was a connection there with TN.

Wonderful signing. This guy is tough as nails, skates hard, hits ever shift and has underrated hands. You will love him.

I wish you Jets fans all the best but this guy is complete garbage. 1 goal in 60 games? Come on.

You'll be ripping your hair out at how horrible this guy is by game 25.

No you will not, you will be quite pleased with his play.

As for the playoffs where you see players rise to the occassion, it's been the second year in a row where Glass has not provided what can be defined as a shining moment in any of his shift.

He's very smart for a "tough guy" But he was simply not effective in the playoffs for us wish him the best of luck in Winnipeg tho.

Glass had a decent regular season in 2009 - 2010 but fell off badly last year. At the top of his game, Glass can provide some decent 4th line minutes and is strong as a bull. Good guy who you hope will succeed.

Needs to stay healthy

He's a 4th liner, not a superstar. 4th liners generally don't score 20 goals a season.

I feel for the Jet fans... Glass was a plug for us and I am very glad he is gone. The guy should have never made the team and was the most useless player in the cup run. Lets just hope Noel doesn't have a hard on for the guy like AV did.

At least he'll answer the call... unlike some players.

I cringed when I saw this signing but all the best to Winnipeg. So excited to see this team come back. Would love to see at least two more teams back in Canada.

Awful, awful signing. Anything from the Canucks organization has no character. None. They proved it over the course of the year and the playoffs. It's a reason they didn't win the cup. I hope he gets sent to the minors or just waived and somebody picks up this trash.

Glass was actually a solid 4th liner for the Canucks the last two regular seasons. But once the playoffs roll around and the intensity ramps up, he just couldn't keep up with the play

Great, character too. Plays a mean game of charity scrabble. edit: "Tanner Glass is 2 days away from not being employed by the #Canucks, & he's doing a public signing of #DearVancouver shirts. Quality dude."
After watching him all season I can safely say no, he can't. Bad signing unless its for your AHL team.

He can be a serviceable 4th liner, especially with a decent center who can move or carry the puck out of the zone reasonably well. He improved as a hockey player this year but was a disaster in the playoffs. That may have been due to his abdominal injury late in the regular season but he was bad in last year's playoffs too so I'm not sure. He may just not be able to keep up when the pace and intensity pick up. He's not a great skater and his puck skills are extremely limited.

A lot of our frustration with Glass is really more on Vigneault though because he seemed to think Glass was a great hockey player and kept trying to use him at center and on the penalty kill. In the playoffs he continued to play him consistently even though he was absolute dead weight most of the time and a liability the rest of the time.

Glass is a great guy, a great teammate and can hold his own in a scrap although he's not going to scare anybody. He'll work hard along the boards and throw his weight around but most of his hits are pretty minor ones. He's worked hard to improve his game and in the regular season he was pretty good at playing our system, staying within his limits and making safe plays with the puck. I don't know why in the playoffs he started screwing up the simple plays and getting beat along the boards regularly... there may have been an injury situation but whatever the case he was clearly not effective and should not have been playing.

Pros:
-This guy works hard on the fourth line and can eat up some minutes via responsible puck possessions. You can tell he wants to be out there.
-Uses the body well, works well along the boards and can bring energy to the team with some pretty decent hits.
-He is a great character and seems to be liked in Vancouver. Sounds like a funny guy in interviews, must be great in the locker room.
-likes to learn, tried center with the Canucks. He is a bright tough-guy willing to play any role.

Cons:
-4th liner, don't expect much offense, has to grind for goals and they are very rare.
-I noticed last year he isn't the most positionally sound player, often looking lost and drifting. He has improved on the pk, but still his ES is suspect.
-Vancouver tried him as a center and it didn't go so great in the face off dot. Not a natural playmaker.

Good signing

It's a good signing for what it is - an energy guy who will rotate in and out of the line up on the 4th line.
