he made a stink about not going to Edmonton, can he be that thrilled about going to another smallish, cold city in the mid-west?
not surprised SJ moved him, and i think they got a pretty decent return considering the way Heatley's been playing.
Havlat could thrive playing in SJ, he wasn't quite up to being "the" guy (few could on a team with so little offensive talent/depth), but being behind Thornton/Marleau and playing with guys like Couture/Pavelski/Clowe... he should be up for a big resurgence (at least points-wise).
I like what Wilson is doing with his team, minny not so much...
Bof Heatley is widely overrated... kif kif if you ask me...
Who knows what to think of this trade. There is always that possibility of injury with Havlat, though he has been healthy the last two seasons, but he does seem to care more than Heatley, who was terrible in the playoffs.
Personally I think I would want Havlat for the Habs simply because Cammalleri plays a similar style to Heatley (find open spots and blast the puck), while Havlat would add some pure skill to the lineup.
Sharks getting rid of Heatley is not really a surprise because he choked again in the play-offs. For a guy who is a pure goal scorer he sure changes teams a lot. His production keeps dropping and he has a high cap hit for a 26g, 64 pt. guy.
I think Havlat will be a good fit for the Sharks. He gives them even better team speed and creativity, not to mention a lower cap hit.
Minny is obviously hoping that Heatley can hook-up with Koivu. Interesting trade.
