At any rate is is exciting to have the Habs involved in so many tasty rumours, starting with Jagr, through Richards, Cole and now Doughty.
THIS would be interesting! I've dreamt of grabbing Stastny ever since I heard he was having trouble with Avs management (or vice versa). Still I'm afraid the price for Doughty would be too steep (who, incidentally is one of my favorite non-Habs). LA would be nuts to accept anything that didn't include PK. And we, in turn, would be nuts to accept anything that included PK.

But in the spirit of this thread, my offer would be:

AK, Weber, Beaulieu + 1st

for

Doughty + Clifford

I doubt we even come close, but if we're trading for doubty, i'm 100% sure that gorges is going the other way.

If Markov Subban Price and Patches aren't going back the other way:

1st, , Tinordi, Beaulieu, Leblanc, it would need to at least be good enough to compensate for 4 1sts. That having been said I think they'd rather the semi-high picks we've already had pre-Doughty than the ones we'd have post-doughty as a top 3 squad in the east

I'm sure though Gorges/Pacioretty would need to be inclusive, or both. LA wouldn't take 4 picks/prospects. They would want somebody established also. Gorges makes sense.

1st, 2nd, Beaulieu, Gorges, Weber

For Doughty. Would you do it?

Too much I think. I think the offer would be more like 1st, Gorges, Cammy/Gionta

Also too much I think

if he repeated last season, no, but at this rate I'm sure he could put up 70 points and all we would hear about is that he's not putting up 90.

What a dream having Doughty with us that would be. Lets see they are shopping him and that we are interested, I'm pretty sure Subban needs to be part of the deal.

Doughty vs Subban + Kristo + 2nd pick?

If we can manage to keep subban and add doughty, I think I would kiss PG's feet.

With an greatly inferior attitude. Doughty is more likely to die of an overdose than he is to be a hall of famer. Bryan Fogarty 2.0.

Oh give me a break.

He's a kid, he's going to party. There were pictures of Price partying too.. does that mean we should go find a goalie who never lights a cigarette or never parties and trade Price for him?

Doughty is one of the best defenseman in the NHL in every area. That's just the way it is. I love Subban - even more after I met him in Belleville after he was drafted, but I don't see him on Doughty's level. At least not yet.

That might be the most asinine thing I've ever heard. So long as Doughty doesn't pull at Gomez, he's got a great shot at being HoF material.

I would not to the trade either. Doughty as serious party issues apparently. Look at Mike Richards. He never stop partying and is career is going downhill.

I would not trade a determined Subban who is already close to Doughty and can become as good for a Doughty with issues. We have had enough of these type of players. Too much of a risk on such high talent. And Subban is good buddies with Price, our lethal duo for the next 12 years, so no thanks.

You could of just wrote I don't agree. Your username kind of gives away your opinion on the subject.

I didn't say I'd 100% make the trade either. But the partying' thing could be extremely overblown. A lot of it is hearsay. Remember when we were hearing rumblings of Price knocking up underage women? Like come on, unless we get it from a legit source, I'm not interested.

I know Doughty has had dedication problems - but if this is Doughty with dedication problems, just imagine what the hell kind of player he'll be if he dedicates himself.

I did say I'd trade Price for Doughty & Bernier though. In a heartbeat. No second thoughts whatsoever. Bernier may not be quite on Price's level (although he's ****ing good), but we could start with Budaj in net if we had Markov, Subban, Gorges, and Doughty as our Top-4.

Doughty can go out on the town in LA relatively incognito. In Montreal the taxi driver will sell the story to Le Journal before sunrise. Besides, Montreal loves PK and the non-credible rumor has it he's part of this fictitious deal... Non merci. Why gamble when you already have a sure thing?

I'm way to attached to Subban to see him go. Even for Doughty.
