Wild sign Jeff Taffe (2-way deal)

The Wild has added forward Jeff Taffe. Very nice pickup for the Aeros, and could see some time in Minny.

We picked up this PoS player?

I wonder if Harding remembers him?

Can't believe we even touch this guy.

Quote:
Rickard Wallin tied a career high with four points (1-3=4) and Mikko Koivu collected two goals and an assist, as the Houston Aeros defeated the Utah Grizzlies 5-2 at Toyota Center. Wallin, Kyle Wanvig and Zbynek Michalek each scored on the red hot Houston power play and Josh Harding made 22 saves before being taken to the hospital after a vicious elbow to the head by Jeff Taffe with less than five seconds left.
Dirty player.

First Matt Johnson, then this guy?

Yep, can't find it on YouTube. He came around and intentionally clipped Harding in the head with his elbow. It was bad.

Shouldn't see time with the Wild, but he does help Houston. Unfortunate his incident with Harding 6-7 years ago, but its hard to find guys that have been clean their entire careers.

Rau, Disally, Taffe, with perhaps 2 of Wellman/Almond/Sheppard. Not bad top-6 forming in Houston next year. Foucault better show up in camp or he'll be in the ECHL, perhaps with his former teammate Broda.

Taffe is a useless player, hopefully we'll never see him playing for the Wild (as we probably won't).

Maybe he can find some kind of a role in Houston...

if and a big IF he comes in and has a strong camp could he push for the 4th line C position?

I'd say he's got about as good of a chance as Chad Rau. Which would be behind Warren Peters, Cody Almond, Casey Wellman, Carson McMillan, James Sheppard, or moving Eric Nystrom to center.

If its a veteran, it will be Peters. Yeo knows him from Houston, he knows he can dominate face-offs and play a 4th line role.
