Interesting, but I meant from a NAHL view its weird. That team is a good distance from anything, and in EJ territory at that.

Anyone know if Minot is in any danger going into next season, with the floods?

If I remember correctly (and I may be wrong), but I think Maysa is on a pretty big hill, but I know the flooding is really bad, so I don't know if Maysa has had any damage. I hope they can play, but I know most of the city is pretty much gone.

Maysa arena is dry...no damage at all accually was used as a storage facility during the flood and many campers parked in lot for displaced citizens

Minot starts skating next week with Two a days the team is looking pretty good I was at the main camp and some of the players they had were good. There are a few local players so they should be fine. Maysa was dry (good thing they didnt use the All Seasons cause the season wouldn't have started until Nov.1). Bismarck is going to be rebuilding really bad they lost some key players this year. The cool thing going for the Bobcats is they are play the Russian Red Stars on December 21 which is going to be cool. Also check out the Minot Minotauros Jake Hebda goalie mask

Went to the first game of the Bismarck Bobcats vs Minot's team wow what a game 11-3 the final with the Bobcats winning. Only thing I can say is Minot has to work on their goaltending. Also Wilson Housley only thing he even did take to many penaltys. it was a great game will be going to the game tomorrow and hoping to get some pics.

Didn't make it to any Wildcats games last year, hopefully my work schedule will be more flexible this season.

can any of you explain to me the reason for the "NAHL at Large" team that existed in 2006-07? looking at it, and the transactions it appears each team had to loan players to the team. was it to make the schedule work?

The NAHL at large was only a thing at the showcase it was for guys who normally didn't get to skate much in preseason or in any other games mainly. They only played 4 games lost 3 and tied 1. It was to get guys exposure so they could play more or a few more skates in to see if they were good enough. Its good that they haven't done it since though cause they didn't play well together.

thanks for the response. sounds odd as well as interesting. considering they played real games, I'm guessing those stats are official? i see on some of the major sites like hockeydb, they are not recognized.

the reason why its not on Hockeydb is they weren't on a real team that was fully functioning like other teams in the league. They wanted to keep it going but it was hard for teams to keep sending players to other citys to play against them. thats why they kept it just at the showcase that year.

I'm going to the game 21. december 2011, Red Stars of MHL vs. Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL). The Red starts are made up of top junior players from the MHL. Most of them have to earn their spots on the team. Tickets are selling like wild fire just hoping to get to the game early maybe get to meet some of the players.

Is this league owned by the mob? How financially do they survive? It is a cool league but in all reality all it is is elite Junior B hockey. I have seen attendance reports on line and even that blows my mind how some teams survive. Seems like a great league for kids to play in but I am still shocked if it can last financially I mean.

The Fresno Monsters have horrible attendance...1500-2000 people usually.

The Bismarck Bobcats have done great the last few years. Last season All but 5 games were sold out. They seem to do just fine but they own more then just one league they have 3HL and the PHL in North America and the NAHL is known as a Junior A Tier II league. I do believe that the owns have a lot of money and have some really good owners to help out. I made it to at least half the games last year. Also some teams have really good turnover into D1 hockey. Here's just some players from the Bobcats Ryan Faragher St. Cloud State University, Matt Gates University of Alaska, Emerson Auvenshine University of Massachusetts, Charlie Mosey Dartmouth College, Castan Sommer Holy Cross , Ryan Jacobson Brown University, Dan Weissenhofer US Air Force Academy, Dominic Panetta Ferris State University, Ryan Massa University of Nebraska-Omaha. Here's for the rest of the league http://www.nahl.com/college/
