Who's ****ing Pumped for Next Season?

Last off-season, there were few days I can go without thinking hockey or the Rangers. But now, I can't stop thinking about it. Where ever I go, I can't stop thinking about how we just signed Richards and I'm always thinking about how Gaborik should get his game back. It's about time we should be scoring on the PP and making the playoffs not on the last day of the year.

Mods feel free to delete. I'm just ****ing hype.

Amen. I wake up every day thinking, "Holy ****, we signed Brad Richards!", and then I think of the great PP we could have and the great Cup runs this team will have in 2-3 years.

I'm super optimistic, but also disappointed because I don't know if i'll be able to catch every game now that i'm going to college. Though I doubt that i'll be impeded too much.

This is the most excited i've been for the season since the first post lockout year, and that was after being deprived of my team for a whole year.

I haven't been this excited for a season since the first year that we had Gretzky. I can't overstate how strange it feels to actually be thinking that the Rangers are going to be good, and I mean good, not average, as they have been since the lockout. We haven't had a first line center since Messier's first term here. Do you understand how absurd that is?

Once I went through the list of prefixes, I knew that one would be perfect.

I'm pumped too. Excited to see what the team can do with a legit first line centre.
Don't let college get in the way of Rangers hockey My first year I didn't watch a single Rangers game (Lockout ) but after that, years 2, 3 and 4 I would watch at least 2 games a week either on Centre Ice or streaming them (once I figured how to do it)

Nice to see that there are some legit expectations.

This should not be a bottom playoff team.

Finishing 4-6 is realistic.

Good luck to Richards matching what Nylander did at an even older age. Before the "Nylander had Jagr" retorts, either Gaborik can be that guy or trade the bum. No excuses.

Eh, Gretzky was definitely a 1st line center in 97-98 -- but I digress. It's still an absolute absurdity how long it has been since a center of Richards' caliber has laced the skates up for this team.

I absolutely cannot wait to see what a real powerplay looks like.

I'm psyched, I really want to see what damage Richards and Gaborik can do together. I'd love for us to tear up the Atlantic division. I also want to see Rupp pummel some opposing players.

Besides the fact that Jaromir Jagr is one of the best to ever play the game and Marian Gaborik isn't...

Possible.

The Flyers have taken a few steps back. imo
They'll still be good but I don't worry about them much now. We'll see how things play out with them.

Pittsburgh is still good but the Rangers have had success against them last couple of seasons.

Devils eh...
Icelanders are still rebuilding.

Rangers took a big step forward signing Richards, and he signed a deal that gives us some space to maneuver over the next few years.

Very pumped.

As excited as I am I still have zero faith in this team coming close to a division championship.

Pittsburgh will be tough to beat if healthy. While I think Philadelphia is worse now than they were, they are by means bad. I will not be one of those naive Rangers fans who acts like the Devils are going to be bad. I just don't see it. They're not going to be great, but I also expect them to be a playoff team.

I could see the Rangers being a very solid team this year that still comes in third in the division. If only because it always seems like teams like Pittsburgh and Philly just destroy other teams on their schedule. We always seem to have lulls and poor performances.

We'll see. Maybe this is the year that changes.

Definitely excited, just pessimistic per usual.

I'm actually so excited for this season, I find myself almost contemplating finding an employer to file a "petition for alien worker" form.

I think for a hockey fan, this will be the year to live in NYC.

I'm going to predict that Erixon scores his first NHL goal against Brodeur. Joining Gilroy, Staal and McDonagh as players that scored their first NHL goal against him.
