If the Kings couldn't get a deal done with Doughty and he wanted to be traded (unlikely), this is a deal I would do. Parise is a superstar player that would could be in the core with Kopitar, Richards, Brown for the next decade.

Though I just don't see LA trading Doughty. Johnson will become a top #2 d-man in the league, but I don't think he can handle being a #1 full time.

Unlike Stamkos, there have been zero talk about Doughty not wanting to sign, not close to signing, etc. Most people are saying he might wait to see what Weber gets as a benchmark, but that's about it.

I think that LA and NJ actually make pretty good trading partners.

To NJ:

D. Doughty
J. Bernier
2nd round pick

To LA:

Z. Parise
A. Larsson

I think it makes sense from NJ perspective, as Lou's philosophy has been building from the goal out. A #1 d-man and a potential franchise goalie to step in for Brodeur is right up his alley. They also get the best player in the trade. I think the pick just evens it up a bit.

LA does it and has a lethal top 2 lines, assuming Parise has no lingering injury issues. They also get someone destined to be a top 2 dman, who can step into the lineup right away

Why would the Kings add Bernier and a pick just to get a prospect?

Doughty for Parise straight up is a value for value deal. Good risk/reward for both teams.

I actually kinda like this trade proposal. I would hate to see Doughty go, but the trade makes sense. The only problem is the Kings have too many prospects.

I'd do this for a signed Doughty. Not sure if we'd be slightly overpaying.

I don't get this trade

A.Larsson > Drew Doughty

A.Larsson is like 92 overall during 3rd year of Nhl 11.

That's a HUGE no from NJ. For Doughty, I'd trade one of Parise or Larsson - not both. The values of Parise and Doughty are pretty equal, although NJ would have to add A LITTLE BIT. Adding Larsson is far too much.

See, it works both ways.

If you'd be pissed at Parise and Larsson then you are a real homer.

Have you seen him post before? He does not share most opinions of Kings fans.

Parise+Larsson for Doughy+Bernier is a deal that I would contemplate doing

From Buffalo:

Myers + 2 2nd's

From LA:

Doughty

I don't really see why this deal would happen, but I think the value is decent.

This is actually a pretty good proposal. Doughty has more value than Parise, Larsson has more value than Bernier + 2nd. Bernier or the second could be switched with any of our prospects if that makes it more fair. I wouldn't be happy losing Doughty, but this would make it "worth it".

Too much from NJ. As another said, Parise *or* Larsson could be the centerpiece from NJ, but not both. NJ is pretty happy waiting to see how our goaltending prospects pan out (we have a few now) and in a market where Vokoun gets 1.5M, we'll take our chances.

This is about right, I think.
Vokoun's one year deal is the exception to the rule. Bryz just got a crazy contract and Varlamov (who I think there is little doubt have less value then Bernier) was just traded for 1st and 2nd round picks.

No sense in Price as Quick has played well.
My assumption would be Subban and Pacioretty would be the starting point. Personally I would never make the trade simply because while Doughty is an all star in the making. Subban is not a significant enough drop off to warrant the overpayment. Call it a gamble but I'd rather take my chances on what the Habs have and see where it lands them.
