Who will be next season's whipping boy?

Now that Drury is gone, someone needs to take over...

Unless Wolski puts up a point per game playing on Richards' line, he'll get a lot of mostly undeserved criticism from our fanbase.

Wolski.

Even if he puts up 55-65 points, he'll always be a whipping boy in my heart.

(That sounded a bit more pansy-ish than I imagined)

W2 is my pick, though I am almost tempted to pick Richards. Knowing how some people go overboard when their unrealistic expectations get shattered, he could be a pick just because of that

Depending on who's here and who's not, assuming they're all here:

In order: Wojtek Wolski, Marian Gaborik, Michael Del Zotto, Henrik Lundqvist

I don't think Christensen is an option. All the fans know he sucks and has no potential, and has like a 900K contract, so he can't be considered a whipping boy.

Nobody will be. Those terrible players are all finally gone.

Nevermind, forgot Wolski. Yup its him.

Gabby wont be because he will be putting up tons of points with Richards.

Avery...he's already getting it, people are mad about his contract which is ridiculous since it's less than $2million

*sigh*

Wolski. I mean he has already become the whipping boy hasn't he? Every other thread has either a) him in a trade proposal or b) him being bought out. He's only been on the Rangers for half a season too for crying out loud.

Wolski is in a contract year. I'm thinking he has a good year. If an expiring contract and John Tortorella as your coach can't motivate you, I don't know what can. Best case scenario is he raises his trade value by the trade deadline where he can be moved for some playoff help. Frankly, I don't see him playing here for too much longer. And yes I also voted Wolski.

I cant see it being Boyle..hes just too happy on the ice and on the bench. When we see our players showing emotion they usually aren't whipping boys. Besides Gomez(who wasn't really a true whipping boy i dont think). I can't think of any.

lotta guys need to turn it around (WW, DZ, Avery), and some of the breakout guys, they have be careful not to relapse and get in the dog house (Sauer, McD, Boyle).

I worry most about guys like MCD and Sauer. Not long term, but a sophomore hiccup could make a long season for them.

Eh. Guys who try hard are seldom whipping boys. Even if his production slips, as long as he works hard, he won't draw much ire.

With Rangers fans, HA! Everyone on the team is not going to be immune to criticism, by which I mean fans are going to extrapolate minor flaws.

I said it a few years ago and I'm sticking to it: If New York sport fans could lynch players, every tree branch in Central Park would have a body hanging off of it.

Avery if he doesn't pull his head out, Wolski if he doesn't compete harder and Christensen if he doesn't grow a set and stop being emo.
