Regular season statistics don't mean a thing in thr playoffs-just go ask the Sedins, Kessler and Roberta Luongo. Make sense, brother?

Players who were 1 win away from the Stanley Cup?

As for Kesler, he most likely would have a Conn Smythe had they won...

While I don't think the Rangers gonna be cup contenders, I think they'll be more than just "average".

Although I bet you were the guy who started "season over!!!" threads after every loss.

I am aware that Crosby's was much worse. You even had people speculating that his playing career might be in jeopardy. I'm really curious to see how he returns.

It's not out of the question to assume he may lose a step or be a lot more cautious with the puck.

I can see the Devils entering the playoffs as the 7th or 8th seed.

If they can add a defenseman to help their transition game, they'd be a near lock -- but, as it stands, I just don't think their defense is nearly good enough for them to make it. Also, I can't make a concrete prediction on that until they get a coach, either.

Tim Thomas was gonna win the Conn Smythe...win or lose.

Not so sure...definite possibility, but it wasn't by any means a lock had Vancouver won, IMO, given the media firestorm of adoration Kesler had received up to that point.

Damn, this was a weak Conn Smythe year. Leading scorer of the playoffs had 23 points. Yikes.

Thomas put up way too good of numbers to lose it even if the Bruins did lose.

this is what I'm thinking:

1. Washington Capitals
2. Pittsburgh Penguins
3. Boston Bruins
4. Tampa Bay Lightning
5. New York Rangers
6. Buffalo Sabres
7. New Jersey Devils
8. Montreal Canadiens
---------------------------
9. Philadelphia Flyers
10. Carolina Hurricanes
11. New York Islanders
12. Toronto Maple Leafs
13. Florida Panthers
14. Winnipeg Jets
15. Ottawa Senators

Don't think so. It's possible, but if he didn't pitch a shutout in game 7 and Boston lost I don't think he deserved it.

I wouldn't put Philly out of the playoffs. I understand they lost Richards and Carter, but they're still a playoff team.

Tim Thomas had insane numbers. Although, the runner-up was Ryan Kesler, but he kind of fizzled as the finals went along. I do commend Kesler trying to play through a groin injury. I can't even think off the top of my head who would of placed 3rd in the voting. Maybe Brad Marchand?

I'm predicting Flyers will fall flat. Lack of chemistry with a lot of new faces on the roster. Its gonna take them another 2 - 3 years before they right the ship. I can only imagine the locker-room atmosphere when you mix a moody guy like Jagr with a Pronger. Right off the bat...they've lost 3 of their top 5 scorers. They're losing close to 60 - 70 goals without Carter & Richards. Special teams will dip without those two. Jagr will be good for 20 goals as he'll run out of gas by January.. Briere & Hartnell lost their line-mate of two years in Ville Leino. Bryzgalov will crumble due to expectations & insane contract. Media will have a field day with him cos' he has loose lips. Defense is old & injury prone.Timonen, Pronger & Lilja are all 35 years and over. Lots of question marks across the board.

The only no brainier is that the Sens will finish last-by a lot.

I think he might've meant no team in Atlantic goes over 100. Unlikely with 3 point games these days.

2007/08 - last time all teams in 1 division finished with less than 100 points (Southeast)
2001/02 - last time all teams in Atlantic failed to reach 100 points. We missed playoffs that year.

Really wish it was October already, can't wait to get to Stockholm for the first two games. Trying not to set expectations in general at this point, just want to see how everything clicks with Richards first and foremost.

If they can grab someone like Kaberle I think they challenge for top-4 in East. JMO

Curious to see how he preforms next season.
Last I heard he was doing his normal offseason workout regimens -- he should be ready for training camp.

I think the Debbie's are going to be doing better than most of you are thinking; they had a HEdoublehockeysticks second half of the season….

The east will be strong next season……. My trifecta would be Pittsburg (I just threw up a little in my mouth) Boston, then Rangers……
