Prospect Camp July 11th-12th (Roster in Post #1)

Wonder why it's only 2 days? Should be an interesting group this season with the NCAA guys not around(picked up a couple in this yrs draft). Some interesting invites as well, Futa talked about inviting guys and getting commits at the draft.

Anyone going?

The Collegiate players always come to the prospect camps, it's the september camps that they don't participate in because of school . . .

I think something keeps getting overlooked:

Quote:
Also, for those who like to attend the annual development camp, on-ice practices will be open to the public on July 11-12 at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. The camp is free. A camp roster and a schedule will be announced in the coming weeks.
Just because the practices are open to the public for two days doesn't mean the camp is only going for two days.

But yes, all the NCAA draftees will be there. Kitsyn won't be there, as he has training camp in Russia. I don't know if Oscar Moller will attend, as he's going to be playing in Sweden (and I don't know if the Kings are trying to develop him further). Berube won't be on the ice due to injury, but he should be there.

Either way, I'll be there.

Actually, many are usually missing because NCAA rules require that they pay their own way and are limited in their on-ice instruction time. Not many college kids out there that can pay their own way.

In the five prospect camps I've attended, I've probably only seen one or two ncaa players not show up.

Anyone know if Slava is going to be there? Usually Russians don't go because they are at home and its not really worth getting a work Visa for 2 days of prospect camp.

Not sure about Gravel, but I know 100% Forbort wasn't there.

Are you sure he wasn't there for the June camp? Maybe you're thinking of the September camp (when school has started and college players won't be there)?

I remember both Gravel and Forbort being there. I remember Forbort being very raw, but he towered over most.

Thanks for the info. He's a pretty big guy. We should sign him just for his name alone.

Almost. Slovenia only has two real hockey centers. Ljubljana and Jesenice. If you would like to have successful hockey carrer (on Slovenian level), then you are almost obligated to start in Jesenice or Ljubljana. There are only few exceptions in Slovenia, one of them is Mursak.

And in Jesenice (and surrounding) you almost have no other chance to do anything else than play hockey. This is the reason that most best slovenian hockey players are born in Jesenice or close to Jesenice.

Well its not like they never go to em. Usually its a case by case thing. I guess I'll be waiting until the official roster for camp comes out.

While the full roster is expected to be announced shortly, here are some confirmed participants, four of the tryout players and a few miscellaneous notes.

Michael Futa post draft talk. It a little down on the page. He mentions the
development camp. Its not much. 3:30ish mark.
