That's pretty sweet. Even though we deserve it, it's still nice to see that.

That is awesome. I hope the 29 other teams do that.

Very possible - I saw the same thing in a picture from Boston - I think it's great too.

I think it's true that hockey fans are different from any other sports fans. We're alot more commited to the game and the players than the commercials.

Ok guys, don't kill me on this one but, I kinda don't like it. Not the thought behind it but I mean the actual paint on this ice. I can just imagine watching a game on TV. With the camera zooming back and forth across the rink, I can really see those words being an eye-sore. Also, I think you'll miss sight of the puck in those patches of blue. I think if it was a little smaller and off to the sides it would have been a better idea. Just my .02 cents.

Oh yeah, and the best way to thank us would be by making it to the finals this year. I think I'd like that a little more than some blue paint.

Just another buttkissing move by a league that does too much of it. At least it is directed at the fans this time, rather than the uncaring American TV networks and sports media.

Look at the pic and you'll see Lukoil logo - russians oil company.
"Part of Lukoil's $30 million marketing budget will be spent at sporting events. "We had hoped to advertise with the Philadelphia Flyers and the New Jersey Devils," explains De Laurentis, by embedding the Lukoil logo into the ice. But with hockey season suspended this year, "maybe we'll try basketball," he says."

Yes, russians bad

Also, do you notice the zone behind the net where goalies are not aloud to play the puck. Doesn't look like a big deal...IMHO

Pretty limiting I think.
Seemed to work well like that in the AHL last season.

They will still be able to stop the puck on dump-ins around the boards and set the puck for the defencemen.

And of course, "taking out the red line" means allowing the two line offside pass, not really removing the red line. It's just hockey slang.

The sign is nice, but cheaper tickets would have been better than words on the ice!!
