Overpayment. Sather needs to negotiate against true market value and leave their importance to the Rangers at the door.

3.75-4M per for each.

Absolutely no point in buying out Wolski at this point.

Yeah, I think ~4M/year for each (on a 4 year deal) is about right. Their agents will no doubt ask for 4.5 and the Rangers will counter with 3.5 before they ultimately meet around 4. That's the name of the game.

3.75 would be a damn bargain I just can't picture it.

4.5 for these two
1.75 for Boyle and Artie
1.5 for Sauer

I'm rounding numbers but how far off do you see these estimations as being

Agreed, but it's a good thing to have in our back pocket just in case.

4 for Duby and Cally
2 mil for Artie
1.2-1.5 for Boyle
1.5 for Sauer

I swear, some of you are determined to villianize Dubinsky because of the holdout, despite the fact that it has absolutely zero impact on anything. It's a business. Get over it.
Take a breath bossman.

Sorry im not jumping for joy because we have so many players going to arbitration, which means they get to bash each other at the hearing if they are not signed before the date.

And they will likely be overpaid by the arbitrator as how its recently been going.

paying 4.5 for dubinsky and callahan would be overpayment... these guys are great second liners... they should be able to lock up both for under 8 per year on a longterm contract

In essensce, this guarantees that Dubinsky will be a Ranger next year (unless the Rangers choose to trade him) Ditto anyone else who chooses arbitration.

Callahan should be your Captain...he's a guy you hold onto no matter what.

Or NY turns down the decision. Unlikely, but just sayin'.

I disagree. Cap space is not a bad thing to have going into the season, and personally, I'd just rather not have him on the team. I don't want him on the first line yet his style requires a top 6 role. But with that said, I'd rather them trade him than buy him out. There should be team interested.

no point at the moment...but having the option of a 2nd buyout window gives you a bit more flexibility when exploring trade options. if no trade options work out, you keep wolski. if something comes up that you need the space then you have a way out.

Who else is going to play LW on the 1st or 2nd line.

Trust me, I hate Wolski's soft/floating game - I hope we can swing a trade or something for another top 6 winger. But the guys got skill and noone else even close to challenging him on the depth chart right now.

Good. I think they'll re-sign before arbitration, but either way it guarantees they'll be Rangers next year

Also don't think Wolski gets bought out unless the Rangers have something in mind that requires some more cap space...but they have enough now that I don't see it happening.

Also don't see him on the top line with Richards and Gaborik cuz ******* that'd be a bad defensive line

Umm...ok. By electing arbitration, the players are saying that they intend to re-sign with the Rangers and will not consider outside offers. That's a definite positive.

But hey, if you just want to complain, have at it.

I've been barking up this tree for 2 years now and it has continually fallen on deaf ears. Dubinsky could score the GWG in the Stanley Cup Finals and there are still some fans that would say "but he's not a true Ranger, he held out."

Excellent, excellent news precedent-wise, IMO.

IMO, part of the process. They'll be resigned before arbitration.

Oh yea a positive, and what happens if they dont come to an agreement by the hearing? Then the Rangers get to bad mouth the player and discuss why he isn't worth as much as he is. In addition we only get a 1 or 2 year contract out of it which mean he heads to the UFA market in 2 years. But hey if you think thats good news have at it.

The Rangers should give Callahan the Ladd deal. 5 years.

Quote:
Andrew Ladd's deal ($22M, 5 years) almost matches the one given to David Backes ($22.5M, 5 years). A good comparable.

Yeah, same age as Dubinsky. Dubi's numbers were just a little bit under Ladd's in 4 less games.

If they all file for arbitration and it goes through, will they be UFAs next year? (I never understood it worked.)
