It would be really inspiring to see him make a comeback ala Bergeron and I would hope that when he does (I'm going to be optimistic here), the fans in the building let him know that we're glad to have him here.
And what better way than to present him with some tasty waffles!

Please no, lol. I hated the whole waffle thing. The first time it happened, I laughed a bit because it was so absurd. Like Pronger said, who the hell brings waffles to a hockey game? But when it happened a second time, it quickly lost its humour for me.
if he's not even training, he's gotta be waaaaaaaay out of shape, I don't expect to see him in top form next season. But we have options now, and as Damien Cox said in his column, the Leafs are going with the strategy of "overall" depth rather than replying on a couple of super-stars. Love it! Can't wait til the season starts now
you don't need a superstar centre to win. You win with depth at C, and we have that. Teams like New Jersey, the Bruins, Sabres of had sucess without a true number one centre. We just need depth, solid goaltending, and production from other places. Nonnis went out and got a serviceable C for Kessel. He got some point producing defencmen in Franson and Liles which was a glaring weakness. Our bottom 6 will be well improved with Armstrong ready to have a full year and Kadri/Lombardi/ Bozak all depth for a top 9 role.
I expect Connolly to get anywhere between 45-60 points, Expect 55 - 65 out of Grabo and 40 points from one of Bozak or Lombardi depending on who plays.
That's actually a very underrated point. If we can get 3 of the 4 (including Bozak) to produce consistently or at least at the total we expect, we'll be a tough team to defend for 60 minutes.
Well the other chances of getting depth in the center situation is that we can also get a case like macarthur last year. I am very interested in getting brian boyle from the rangers and other as well.
yes you do need a legit #1 to win unless you get tim Thomas goaltending or zedno Chara D.
2011 Krejci, Bergeron
2010 Towes
2009 Crosby Malkin
2008 Datsuk and Zettberg and the losers had Crosby and Malkin
2007 Getzlaf and Macdonald
2006 Eric staal
2004 Lecaviler
2003 devils didn't have a top C but they did have ROCK SOLID D and Brodure
2002 Yzerman and Fedorov
2001 Sackic and Forsberg
2000 arnott
1999 Madano and Newy
1998 Yzerman and Fedorov
1997 see 1998
1996 Sackic and Forsberg
I could keep going back as you can see history shows that yes in most cases you DO need a legit top line C in fact a lot of teams have 2
I think when he says you don't need one to 'win', he means hockey games (as in, enough to get into the playoffs) not actually win the cup. Obviously expecting this roster to compete for the cup next year would be... optimistic, to say the least.

nobody said that we're going for the cup. However, we could build the team like the Sabres did in 2005-2007 with guy of Briere, Drury mold and have a good chance of competing for the cup without elite players.
I hope they let Lombardi rest for as long as he needs, and then longer. Better for him and better for any team paying his contract if he is actually fit and healthy before he plays again. They don't need him before then, if they need him at all. It was a good trade even if he never plays for the Leafs.
If Lombardi comes back healthy, whenever that is, that would be perfect.
I had a bad concussion playing high school football. It was really two or three years before I was entirely myself again, no longer felt spacey or drowsy and didn't need afternoon naps. It does take a while and you just can't rush it, no matter what you do.
Why do you ****** nozzles think that we must magically acquire a #1 centre?
How do you think those #1 centre's are made? Do you not have any confidence in our development system to MAKE OUR OWN? Costs no assets!
Now that we have depth, we can start to play and develop and stockpile. This is our roster for a bit, if all goes well we will have the depth to bring in a Number one center. Let Players beat each other out and we can trim the fat if alot of the questions turn to answers.

Briere had 95 points in 2007 Vanek had 43 goals, miller 40 wins Drury had 37 goals.
I heard the interview and something about him sounded a bit 'off'. There were a lot of slow answers and his train of thought wasn't sharp, a lot of ummms and uhhhhs. I thought I should take a look at some interviews previous to his injury and found some from when he was in Calgary and Phoenix. I could be wrong, but I feel there is a noticeable difference. It could be that he is a feeling down or whatever but personally I don't think it's that.
Not a lot, just two of our top 3 centerman and our starting and backup goaltender
Only thing the Penguins have on the Leafs is Fleury is a veteran.
Crosby - mushhead
Malkin - injury prone
Connolly - injury prone
Grabovski - hmmm had a wrist injury in 2009-2010

using his big frame to create space and his skating ability to find open lanes to drive the net. He stands 6-3 and is a natural goal scorer with plenty of confidence.
He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.

I hope I'm wrong.
Do you mean he sounds something like Phaneuf? English his first or second language?
Anyone know if Lombardi has suffered a concussion from a hit? I think he said this one was from tripping/falling into the side boards and it was the boards that caused it. Savard more or less was receiving concussions from any hit.
