renhockey - Josh Gorges va en arbitrage. Son agent Kevin Epp veut protéger les droits de son client et va continuer de négocier avec les #canadiens.

Im learning French... am I right in assuming this says:

Josh Gorges has went to Arbitration. His agent, Kevin Epp said it is to protect his client's rights (Montreal to protect his rights) while the client continues to negotiate with the Canadiens.

Nice translation

I just copy/pasted the original quote in Google Translate to see if you cheated or not, and apparently you didn't

Right on lol

It's funny... I'm trying to nail it down using Primsleur, and it seems to be working 1/2 decent.

Well, you're already better than Renaud Lavoie in terms of french/english translations.

Glad he's going to arbitration. He probably won't get more than 2M.

But Hejda was UFA, Gorges is RFA. I don't think he can use Hejda in arbitration.

He's heading in to his 7th year, and is 27 in August. Next off season he is UFA. A multi-year contract does cost Gorges some of his UFA years.

Well Marc Methot just got 4 year @ 3M AAV - so Gorges' agent has that to go on. I don't expect it to get to arbitration.

I would expect that he gets something in the 2.75-3M range

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=71786 - Methot

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=55374 - Gorges

Both similar in age, Methot is obviously bigger, but he plays a very similar game to Gorges. Methot has a better PPG as well, so maybe Gorges signs for something around 2.75 AAV

I can't see him getting over 3M, and would be surprised to see him get 3M AAV anyways.

It says Gorges is going to arbitration because Gauthier is never awake to talk contracts and the Molsons keeps offering him 7.50 an hour and his lunch isn't paid.

Agree, the great thing about gorges is how underrated and what a bargain he is. Once you start having to pay those guys, you desire them alot less...

Anything more than that then we should trade him. 3M per year is the max the Habs should give him. It's fair for both sides.
