Maybe Andy Sutton for the Oilers. He's good for a handful of fights every season.

you forgot Andrew Desjardins for the Sharks. I'm sure Jamie McGinn will drop them a few times as well.

Leblond (Devils) and M. Kassian (Wild) could see a few games this season. Long shot for Peluso(Blues) if Reaves goes down with injury.

Staubitz is not a HW, but a solid MW. Otherwise solid list.

Updated ! Thanks for your contribution.

Anaheim is normally a pretty tough team I am sure they will add some toughness to their line-up

I'd add Dubinsky on for the Rangers.

I'd put Aulie in for the Leafs.

He had 2 fights for the Leafs last year in only 40 games, and had 5 fights in the AHL, for a total of 7 over a whole season. By comparison, Schenn only had 2 fights total, 5 less than Aulie.

Not that it means a whole lot, but Aulie is a better fighter than Schenn as well.

Komisarek had 7 fights this season for the Leafs. While he only won like....2, he still dropped them a good amount.

.....though, I'm not sure I want Komisarek to represent us as a fighter.

Matt Kassian shouldn't play with the Wild this year.

If he plays, he might possibly play less than 10 games.

The only players who should be fighting for the Rangers are Rupp and Prust. Sauer, Dubinsky and Boyle dropping the gloves hurts the team.

All depends on the sitaution. Sometimes it fires them up...Remember the Dubinsky Richards fight?

I agree Prust is the main guy followed by Rupp.

Yes Sbisa was surprising last year.

I will not add Boyle he has a carrer high of 4 fights... Dubinsky fought only 6 times in the last 2 years.

To be on the list I think you must drop the gloves 5,6,7 times per year, at least

Could add Matt Walker for Philly.

As is seems most likely he'll be waived down again but who knows.

Maybe not anymore, wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't fight again because he broke his hand in one last year.
Obviously that's not a rare thing to do but that shattered any type of confidence in him and made him play 'fragile'

CHI is ridiculous.
Carcillo starting the fires and Scott putting them out.
Mayers, OD and Montador is just being piggish about it.

I wish EDM would resign Mac.

That would be some awesome games.

Mac - Scott
Peckham - Mayers
Eager - OD
Hordichuk - Carcillo

I haven't heard squat about MacIntyre, but until I hear that he has signed elsewhere I am holding out hope that the Oil re-signs him.

For the really tough games a lineup with

Eager-?????-?????
MacIntyre-??????-Hordichuk

Peckham-Sutton

...should make for interesting hockey.

Think of it this way, Hordichuk replaces Stortini and Eager replaces Jacques - both are big improvements, and like last year the Oil could still make use of MacIntyre. And IF the Oil were to bring back Bic Mac you can be sure he would know his role.

For the record, MacIntyre would probably pull an Ivanens on Scott.

Not that I am aware of... but that doens't mean much. I am only basing it upon the quality of competition and the fact that Scott seldom - if ever - fights guys his own size. And no disrespect is meant to Scott, but the fact is MacIntyre was top two with Boogaard around. Now that Boogaard is no longer with us, well...

Boogaard's passing may have been the beginning of the end for players of his ilk. With no Boogeyman around, teams no longer need a MacIntyre. Perhaps we'll witness a return to old time enforcers... guys that can play the game, hold people accountable, and not only fight by appointment. I would be all for this... I really like MacIntyre, but what is the point of having a player like him if he'll only fight a handful of others in the league - and to be fair, only a handful of others would dare to fight him. The Boogaards, MacIntyres, etc., may be going the way of the dinosaur (a fitting comparison, on a few levels).

Given Sutton's comparable size, and the fact he fights at close to the same level as Scott, he may be a more fitting match-up for Big Jon. I am not claiming Sutton would win, only that I don't think Scott is in MacIntyre's league.

If we are indeed witnessing a return to a more well rounded type of enforcer, one to police the ice, I like Boston's chances with Thornton. Albeit, the Oilers aren't too bad off with Hordichuk - both are old school sorts of players who know their role.

A return to Old Time Hockey? I hope so.
