Now I'd love to see a Wilson - Wilson - Wilson line.

I'm assuming Kyle Wilson will be two-way?

Stortini is actually decent for a goon, but I'm surprised we went after that type. Could be two-way as well I suppose.

The press release says two-way for year one, and a one way for the second year of the contract for Wilson

Storts is two-way, one year deal.

Wilson

"The first season (2011-12) is a two-way deal that will pay him $550,000 at the NHL level and $105,000 at the AHL level. The second season will pay Wilson $550,000 on a one-way contract."

First Belak scored on us...then we signed him. Now after Stortini lit us up a bit back, we sign him.

Funny.

I can just imagine the quote from Poile on Stortini: "We felt the need to get tougher, so we went out and got a guy who is more interested in hugging Raitis Ivanans than trying to win a fight."

Wilson is likely a pickup for Milwaukee, but he could very well be the next Joel Ward.

Kyle Wilson is our Joel Ward, Marcel Goc, scrap heap signing.

The guy has put up good numbers in the AHL and seemed to play ok in the NHL with 11 points in 32 games. I have a feeling he will make the team.

We're locked in to another one-way deal on an unproven NHLer? Great

Aaron Johnson, although it was stale stank - he hadn't played for them since 07.

They're both two-way contracts. Calm down.

So Trotz got his tough guy...

I remember the look Trotz had on his face when the Fisher trade was made. Probably has the same blissful look right now.

Hopefully Viqsi can give some insight on Wilson. From what I understand he is a pretty decent player, but the coach soured on him during the season and he ended in the AHL. He's got all of 34 games in the NHL with 13 points, at 26 he could still put it together as 3rd/4th line center with okay size.

What in the world makes us give Wilson a one-way deal on his second year?

Stortini though... never liked him, maybe that will change after a few games in Preds gear. I always loved seeing Hordichuk beating on him when we played the Oilers.

Maybe it will make for better tradebait should things not work out after the first year?

Never thought all that highly of him either. But I notice a few people commenting on the trade saying things like 'nice guy, wish him well in Nashville'. So I'm sure I'll feel good when he whips on the first deserving opposing player.

I'm glad we went after a bruiser. With O'brien gone Tootoo can't do it all himself. Stortini is a middle-weight, but has no issue taking on the bigger guys. He isn't that great of a hockey player in terms of creating offense, but Trotz will get all he can out of him. If not, it's a two-way contract. I like it.

Don;t know too much about Wilson though...
