Sorry wanted to quote sk8. See below.
Don't forget that number is an estimate and includes the QOs for Alzner and Brouwer so for Alzner ($826,875) and Brouwer ($1,050,000). So, a little under 2M already included for those 2, plus the number you have above. Again, I didn't do a detailed pro-rating for the 7 players (Perreault and the others), so my number may be 100-300,000 higher than actual pro-rated numbers for that group.

Want to add anything?
I realize it's never going to happen, but now I officially want it to. Would be totally hilarious.

Bonus points if he gets him back for Boston's 2nd or something like that.

It's a good opportunity to collect 2-3 more #1 picks =)))

Trade Semin + MJ for Pavelski + #1

then

Trade Schultz + MP for #1

then

Fehr + Chimera + Boston's #2 for #1 and prospect

then

Sign Hannan, maybe Arnott too

then

Go for the Cup!

PS: 5 #1 picks... that's impossible but very fun. Other GMs could force us into rebuild =))))

PPS: I'm nuts.

Really, Semin+MJ for Pavelski+?

EDIT: Add Galiev somethere if nothing works.

Semin + any one of Fehr, Poti, Perreault, Schultz, Chimera, Gustafsson for Pavelski!
Then any three of the remaining of those to Dallas for Morrow!
Then re-sign Hannan!

Come on GMGMGM (God Mode General Manager George McPhee) you can do it!

Edit: Then ?
Then Profit!

You never know what you have til its gone..remember that.

Alex Semin departing would leave a huge hole on the 2nd line..one that has holes already (center).

IF we trade him then we MUST get a similar 2nd line player (preferably a center) back. And most teams in dire need of scoring would pretty much move laterally if they make such a move. Without him teams will focus even more on Ovechkin.

He had a tough couple games against Tampa but so did the majority of the team. He was very good against the Rangers.

I would not trade Semin unless absolutely neccessary. I think they should hold onto him, make one more run with him, and then when he leaves in the summer hope Kuznetsov makes the leap.

Schultz, Chimera, Fehr are the ones I would look to move unless a great offer came along from a WESTERN CONFERENCE team. I would absolutely not trade him to a rival.

Its easy to hate on the kid but he worked hard on his defensive game last year.

So you advocate getting nothing for him instead of getting something for him?

Got it.

Twitter is dealing players itself these days...

Why would Boston offer sheet Alzner after winning the cup?

Any legit source stating that Pavelski is available?

I read the tweet as saying there in discussions for a trade to free up room for Alzner.

Less chairs for Hannan left. If McPhee wanna trade Schultz maybe it's time to use The Force.

But really shipping out Schultz and signing Hannan gives us very little cap space if any. Just an additional top-5 pick presumably.

All we know is that there were rumors he was being shopped around last years trade deadline. On top of that the Sharks have depth at Center with Thorton and Couture so hypothetically Pavelski could be shopped in exchange for another piece. In a Semin trade the Sharks would get a sniper they could pair with Couture while the Caps could get an established second line Center.

Then again they apparently have big plans for him.

Quote:
Update:
Sharks coach Todd McLellan said Pavelski will reassume his spot as a top-six forward now that Devin Setoguchi has been traded to the Wild, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Recommendation:
Pavelski's numbers were off the charts for a guy who spent plenty of time on the third line this past season. The shifty winger accumulated 20 goals and 46 assists, while holding a plus-10 rating. Moving up the lines does nothing but help Pavelski's fantasy value, so expect him to continue to thrive next season as a dangerous weapon on the team's power play.
More News for Joe Pavelski

If I'm San Jose, I move Thornton long before I move Pavelski.

RFA Troy Brouwer has NOT filed for arbitration #caps

But why? Is the deal close enough? He could get as little as Fehr I guess and maybe more.
