Rotation will look pretty good if/when Hughes comes back. He looked good at Trenton the other day too, sitting comfortably at 92 and reaching 94.

Nope, not at all. Like I said, can't win em all, and we've certainly won almost all of them as of late. I'm still quite pleased with this team.

Hughes doesn't deserve a spot over Nova.

Made no sense after he looked like he had nothing in the Duncan at bat. Giving up huge hits to Shelley Duncan and Austin Kearns is classic AJ though.

Hughes deserves the chance to come back after his season last year. I would imagine Nova will be back soon enough when either Garcia has his 2nd half implosion or Colon can't hold up. I'm praying Colon can hold up though because the guy is a joy to watch.

I can see Colon holding up. He's missing lots of bats and his peripheral numbers look quite good. Colon's xFIP is only .08 higher than his ERA being a tru(er) reflection that his ERA isnt as fluky as some may think. His GB% is just under 50% which is good considering he pitches half of his games at Yankee Stadium.

Garcia is a guy I can see tailing off in 2nd half.

Gotta love the quick bounce back from the Yankees before that losing streak even got it's legs. That's how it's done

The fact that Jeter is getting the nod of Cabrera is a joke. All star game is a joke anyways. At least remove the god damn home field advantage.

Either the game shouldn't matter or the selection process shouldn't be up to the fans.

Seriously doubtful. Sounds like he'll sit out through the All Star break.

ive made my mind up. we must keep jose at all cost.

hes just to damn talented to let him walk. if we warent going to go balls to the walls to sign him- and make sure we do- we need to trade him for whatever we can get. we will not get equal value but we cannot let him walk.

he is the perfect player for citifield. his leadoff ability, gap power, dangerous speed, range and arm are exactly what we need to win at home. hes the face of the franchise.

we must keep him. no matter what.

having said that, i would like to keep wright as well but if push comes to shove, im afraid i move david ,if i have to, in order to keep jose. i still hope we can keep both and believe we can.

to be able to have wright at 3rd, reyes at ss, ike at 1st, turner at 2nd and pagan in center with paulino/thole as our core defense would be ideal playing at citi. i really like that lineup right there. all we lack are some corner outfielders with pop.

duda is a possiblity- hes certainly not a 1st baseman though.

bay is playing great right now and thats good. perhaps someone bites on him. he still scares me with that contract and his single hitter production since hes been here.

beltran is gone. krod gone.

i would move pelfrey too. not a fan.

we arent that far off right now without ike, wright and johan. keeping jose is imperative.

The Mets have the money to keep both Wright and Reyes without much of a problem. Beltran and BB-Rod coming off the books create that cahs pretty easily.

Unfortunately, no one will bite on Bay even if he hits 20 home runs for the rest of the year and plays all out. It would take yet another full year of that for anyone to be convinced.

we gotta move beltran. hes got value and hes playing well. he would look nice on a contender. a decent corner outfield prospect would seem to make sense.

krod is a bum. move him.

move ozzy for anything.

if you look at this lineup

reyes
turner/murph
pagan
bay
wright
ike
duda/new guy who can hit homeruns
paulino/thole

i can almost live with that. seems like a good citifield lineup.

johan
jonathan
pelf
dickey
gee
capuano

need another arm still. if johan is healthy, its still pretty decent 1-6.

we cant afford to let krod hit his number. he and beltran gotta go.

Beltran isn't going to bring in enough to warrant moving him, it seems. Rather take the 1st round pick when he's signed as a type A guy.

With Beltran, a lot depends on the potential return, and whether or not he's slated to become a Type B free agent or not. If he's on track for Type B status--the formula for determining this is not available, to my knowledge--then we'd be in line for a pick in the sandwich round of the next draft if we lost him as a UFA. Meaning that the return in a trade needs to be greater than the value of a player available to us in the sandwich round of the 2012 draft. Wil that be the case? I don't know. If it's not, i.e. we're offered two C-level prospects and a bench player, then I'd rather hold onto him for the remainder of the season.
