How would you fill out lineup card..

As of today? (assuming we keep RFAs)

Off top of my head:
----------------------------
SK - Fisher - Erat
Wilson - Legwand - Hornqvist
Spaling - Smithson - Tootoo
Bergfors - O-Reilly/Geoffrion - Halischuk

----------------------------
Latta/Beck/Watson?

---------------------------
Weber - Suter
Blum - Klein
Boullion - Ellis/Josi/Lebda?

---------------------------
Laasko

Erat-O'Reilly-Hornqvist
Bergfors-Legwand-SK
Wilson-Fisher-Halischuk
Spaling-Smithson-Tootoo

(Trade for player to eat up a large portion of the cap space will make this more difficult.)

Weber-Suter
Blum-Klein
Josi/Ellis/Laakso/Lebda/Bouillon (half will go to Milwaukee).

Rinne
Lindback

Kostitsyn - Fisher - Hornqvist
Wilson - Legwand - Erat
Spaling - Smithson - Tootoo
Bergfors - O'Reilly - Halischuk

Weber - Suter
Blum - Klein
Ellis/Laakso/Josi - Bouillon/Lebda

Rinne
Lindback

We need to get a top 6 forward because it is far to soon to be playing Wilson there. I think we have enough money to invest even with the cost of re-signing Weber. There is money available, now Poile just has to find the player.

I still think we need to sign one more vet d-man at a reasonable cost. Scott Hannan for a year, maybe?

I'm not. I want Josi to start here, Blum should have played last season here.

Bergfors should start out on the 3rd line. Putting him on the a grinding/checking/shutdown line is going to stifle his offensive ability and the effectiveness of a defensive line.

out 4th line is effectively a third scoring line. so putting him with cal and halis in this instance isn't going to stifle him offensively.

List of decent offensive players still out there..

Sergei Samsonov
Nikolai Zherdev
Chris Drury

I think Brad Winchester could come in and play Joel Ward's role...

You say that every year.

It's time to let the kids see what they can do, IMO.

I was pondering this myself, but I don't think it would end well. He has tremendous skill, but has absolutely no work ethic. Even called lazy at times. I don't see him and Trotz getting along.

He has that reputation, but was a lot better last year on the Flyers. Him getting scratched a lot was more about their depth at forward and line chemistry than a lack of effort.

You mean like one of these? (see attachment)

As of right now, I'd go...

Kostitsyn - Fisher - Hornqvist
Erat - Legwand - Top 6 Forward
Spaling - Smithson - Tootoo
Wilson - O'Reilly - Halischuk
To Be Determined - Stortini

Suter - Weber
Blum - Josi
Klein - Ekholm
Laakso

Rinne
Lindback

Note that I expect a top-six forward and a veteran D to be acquired before the start of the season. Blum and Josi played together last season with the Admirals ergo the pairing here.

He is not a good fit for anyone right now honestly...

The Halis/Reilly/Bergy line looks fairly soft, so I could see a platoon of Stortini on that line depending on the opponent.

Hey SL....can you please just throw out a name as that top-six forward?? I really need something POSITIVE after these past few "interesting" days, even if it would be just something to dream about. Looking forward to seeing you again at The Bridge..NO MATTER WHAT THE TEAM LOOKS LIKE a week and 3 months from tomorrow!!!!

Stamkos or Parise for Suter ideally...but there are other options out there that don't necessarily meet the eye. Poile doesn't negotiate in public.

If Colin Wilson starts in that role, I'll join the masses in disgust. Same with Taylor Beck. Those guys have great futures ahead, but rushing them into a role they haven't earned yet is not good. Having Beck and Wilson waiting in the wings to provide scoring depth though would be a great luxury.

No Bergfors? I think we should try him out in the top 6. I know Trotz will NOT do that to start, but Kostitsyn never should've been in the bottom 6 last year from the beginning.

Also, I seriously doubt we have 3/4 rookie dmen either. We'll probably sign a cheap, serviceable vet or put Lebda(yuck) there.
