He's 25ish. Solid, 50ish point AHL center. Good depth for whoever our AHL affiliate will be. Played with the Texas Stars last season, was an 8th rounder (240th overall) in 2004. Was Dallas property las season.

Been watching him here in Austin for 2 seasons. He's a good two way player, that's it.

Does anyone know the term and dollar of this deal so I can add him to the Capology thread? Can't seem to find the details of the deal anywhere, not even in the Winnipeg Free Press. The article I see only lists the details for Tanner Glass and Derek Meech.

"The ‘now’ is very good in Chicago. The ‘now’ back in the days when they were drafting first, second and third? It wasn’t very good. But the core of fans that stuck with them, if you asked them now, I betcha they’d say it was worth it.” - Kevin Cheveldayoff

I tried as well and couldn't find anything. It makes me wonder, how official is the tweet link in the OP

It is indeed official, it is in the Winnipeg Free Press. I suppose it just lets us know how far down the bucket Gagnon is in terms of importance. Generally, details are always released even if it is a deal to place him in the AHL.

Sometimes, other times it just reads "to a minor league deal". The numbers will come out eventually.

Thanks,

I looked at the Moose forum, NHL Winnipeg Jets forum, Winnipeg Sun and TSN.

I've been watching these signings with an open mind. What may seem strange to some people may not be so strange in the bigger picture. The Moose Roster will most likely have a few gaps due to the players under contract to Vancouver moving over to the Wolves. I have no idea what they are doing in that regard.

The Gagnon deal could have Zinger's involvement in this somewhere. If Gagnon is headed for the Moose, then that would make this a good pick-up to replace or fill in some of the gaps I would think.

Good signing for our AHL team. His AHL points per game is comparable to Sergei Shirokov. He's also 25, the same age as Shirokov.

Good AHL signing. So far all depth signings which is necessary since we're a new team starting from scratch. Well, organization starting from scratch, so lets get off the beaten path of, who?! Way to go Chevy sarcastic undertones.

Ok, this has me very confused. Why the one-way in year two?

Interesting deal Aaron Gagnon got from the #jets. First year is two-way while second is a one-way that pays $525,000.

I had absolutely no idea who was and had to look his stats up.

Based on his stats alone, he does look like he has some potential. Each time he adjusts to a new league, he's able to put up decent amount of points.

He could turn into a 30-40 point player in the NHL. Perhaps Heisinger and Cheveldayoff's first hidden find?

I now that Zinger has an eye for that, so we'll see.
