Yes but can he cut the mustard?

IIRC, the newspapers Brandon Sun from Trotter's hometown reported it was up to $250K US.

He had a $250k cap hit on a team known not to give out monster contracts (even to a #1 D-man, whose cap hit is $840k)

Now I'm confused. Some sources say that he was signed for one year, others for two years, in which case he exercised his escape clause.

Two year deal but if he got offers from North America DR would terminate his contract so he could return.

Hmm, I know Patches played well with Gomez and Gionta. But maybe we'll see the Patches-DD-Trotter line that ripped up the AHL in Hamilton, for a few games.

Would Trotter have to pass waivers to be sent down? He has 2 1/2 years AHL.

At the start of the season he played 3C in Riga with extra faceoff duties. By playoff time, though, he became a fixture in DR's top-6, sometimes as a 2C or even on the top line, with at least one of the Redlihs as his linemate.

To succeed in the playoffs in a league with a more open style of play you need to develop skating speed.

I was hoping this would happen. Trotter knew he missed a chance to get ice time in Montreal last year. We'll see him with the big club this season.

The kid can put it in the net. Trotter was on Hamilton's top line with Desharnais and White back 2010. Wouldn't surprise me to see the trio reunited this season.

I said it before, I'll say it again, Brock Trotter would make a great porn name.
