My monthly charge is around 13.50 usd but to purchase the whole unit is another story. You will need a unit which can run from 49.99 to 99.99 and above. then you will need the kits to install it. which are either the car kit, to install this was 80.00 at circuit city plus another 35.00 for a part to have it mounted (ripped off). the home kit which will allow you to listen to the unit in your house since it has a fm modulator any digital fm radio it just runs off a station that you don't get in like 88.5. or you can get the boom box which is nice if you are working or traveling alot. so all together you are looking at a good chunk of change. My suggestion if you are only looking to use it for nhl don't get it but if you want good sports talk and OPIE and ANTHONY, and some decent music its worth it.
By the way doesn't Sirius have rights to the nhl? I thought I saw an ad the other day with the NHL logo on it?
yea i just saw that XM gets exclusive rights in the 2007-08 season plus and all nhl channel will be coming to XM which is awesome. I was pissed when XM didn't have either nhl or nfl coverage but i would rather have the nhl then the other.
I originally purchased XM last year to listen of "Opie and Anthony" but this makes the service 100 times better. I can't wait till the all NHL talk channel starts; I have gone for years without any good NHL radio talk.
Just to let you know, you can get a online-only version but I am not sure how much that costs. The regular subscription comes with the online account also.
