I am guessing they're touted goalies that ended up being horrible?

Burke says that Connolly is the solid #1 centre addition they needed, and he easily upgrades them offensively and defensively. Cody Franson was the key to the predators deal. On Brad Richards: They gave a substantial offer, but the contract... was not front-loaded like others offered for Brad. HE IS NOT CONTEMPLATING MAKING AN OFFER SHEET TO ANY PLAYER, so you might as well forget Stamkos unless it's a trade for him (VERY VERY UNLIKELY) Burke says the Leafs are done with moves for now, but Dave Nonis said the same thing hours before he did the Nashville trade. Burke is still looking to bring Boyce, Lashoff, Crabb. He's confident in a tandem of Reimer - Gustavsson to start the season. No rush to sign Luke Schenn. Nazem Kadri will go to camp as a Winger NOT a centre.

Jim Carey was a flash in the pan who had one huge year, winning the Vezina Trophy and ended up in the minors two seasons later.

I think that's the best thing Burke has done this off season then . I am really not that worried about Reimer. Just have this feeling that he's the real deal, hope I am right.

So....Boyce is likely to be our 4th line C then? Suppose that....could make sense if they think Lombardi can play at some point during this contract. He comes back and is slotted into the 3rd spot and Bozak drops? I dunno.

I think Bozak starts as the 3rd line centre. Lombardi missed an entire year. I believe he will start as a 4th line centre if at all.

Apparently it will be uploaded to the TSN website later on and will be played in its entirety on the Hayes show today. What a waste of live programming!

Current scenario:

Connolly
Grabovski
Bozak
Boyce

Probable scenario:

Connolly
Grabovski
Lombardi
Bozak

My ideal scenario:

Connolly
Grabovski
Lombardi
One of: John Madden, Ryan Johnson, or Jason Arnott

It just seems a bit odd. I definitely thought it they were keeping one of Brent or Boyce, they would've kept Brent. Eh.

Hayes didn't even ask the obvious why did they draft Scheifele over Couturier, Hamilton, Murphy? Seemed obvious enough.

Brian Burke currently has no intentions at offering deals to RFA's Stamkos or Parise. Sticking to his guns

Hmm idk, I think boyce is a bit more skilled and better two way. Doesn't quite have the heart of brent but his numbers were better after only half a season.

Rumour has it Schenn joined the military and is on his way back to Kandahar. His nickname "The human eraser" is still being used.

I'm sooo glad to hear Orr is ready to play!

Likely lineup this fall:

Lupul-Connolly-Kessel
Kulemin-Grabovski-MacArthur
Kadri-Bozak-Armstrong
Brown-?-Orr
Extra:Rosehill

Phaneuf-Aulie
Liles-Schenn
Gunnarsson-Franson
Extra:Komisarek

Reimer
Gustavsson

With Finger finishing out his contract on the Marlies, helping develop Blacker and Gardiner. Boyce might be the fourth line centre. Meanwhile, if there are injuries to Grabs or Connolly, we've got Lombardi who might be ready and waiting in the wings once his concussion issues clear up.

That's not a bad lineup at all. I think we have what it takes to take a serious run at 6th to 8th.
