Good luck to him.

Very glad he's gone though. Was completely ineffective in any role in the 2nd half of the season. (Despite the flood of excuses that will undoubtedly fill this thread)

Wouldn't have minded to bring Tambo back as a 13 th forward but I wish him the best.

Once the smokescreen of the adrenaline of playing for his home-town team wore off, Tambellini was exposed for the small-ish, AHL All-Star calibre player that he has shown himself to be since being drafted. I can't fault his effort or drive to be a part of the Canucks and I certainly think he would have been a better lineup option that Tanner Glass, but there really wasn't a spot for him in Vancouver.

I hope he lands on his feet over there and carves out a nice niche for himself. He seems like a dedicated player and a nice guy.

Played great with the rush of playing for his favourite team. Then he started moving down the depthchart once Burrows got back from his injury and he just didn't produce.

We just didn't have any place for him. I mean he still played 62, but we just couldn't slot him in.

I guess he wasn't getting any contract offers...

His two zone race to catch Erat on that breakaway during the second round against the Preds will always be remembered.

It's too bad he couldn't really find a place on this team. I love the guy's character and drive to bring success to the Canucks.

Good luck to him. Class act all the way.

I actually remember that. Such an epic defensive play.

Tambellini had a great start to the season, but I think he hit a wall emotionally and physically at Christmas. After that point his shot even deterioriated to the point where it was Hansen-esque by the end of the season.

It shall join the Bulis hip check on Jack Johnson and Hordichuk running Marty Turco in the insignificant player memorial.

He got to live out his dream, play for the Canucks and even play in the Cup Finals. I'm sure that eased his decision to go cash in overseas where he will be terrific.

Tambellini was as serviceable a 13th forward making $500K per year as you're going to get; played his heart out here every single game, every single shift, with a great attitude.

That play catching up to Erat will live in Canuck lore forever.

All the best in Switzerland.

Hard worker, great guy, and while ineffective for most part of the second half of the season I thought he made more positive plays for the team than negative (compared to, say, Tanner Glass).

Good luck in Switzerland Tambo!

I wish him nothing but the best. I always appreciated his hustle and speed. He just seemed to fade away halfway through the season.

Raycroft behind the back save too? Does that qualify?

Good luck to Tambo, I hope he just dominates the Swiss league.

As an aside in re: to the Bulis piggyback, I have never been angrier at one player than I was at Bulis for that shift he took. I have never seen a player look so hell bent on taking a penalty then Bulis did on that shift.

He was interviewed on 1040 this morning. Said he just loves playing hockey and is really looking forward to playing regularly for Bob Hartley. He sounded very upbeat about that. He also said playing in the Stanley Cup finals were the highlight of his career so far.

All he needed to do after getting slotting in, game 7 Stanley Cup finals playing at home for his hometown team in a top 6 role was... have the game of his life.

It was very obvious that he was going to be gone, especially after his production tailed off near the end of the season.

the opportunity he had with the canucks last season was the opportunity of a lifetime

he looked great in that 6-game point streak in late december, but then had 0 goals and 2 assists in 2011 on the highest scoring team in the nhl, including playoffs, so his nhl career is likely over

too bad he couldn't make more of an impact, but he's a hard worker and i hope he becomes the next josh holden in switzerland
