The Stars have 7 defensemen signed to one way contracts. Every team needs help at center. Dallas is moving Jamie Benn to center to replace Brad Richards. Christensen is owed $925,000 in salary with the same cap hit. Fistric is in the last year of a 3 year SPC paying him $1.25M in salary this season with a $1M cap hit. Group II after this season. Dallas saves $325,000 in real money. Fistric becomes the Rangers 6th/7th D for a very good price. $1M cap hit. The Rangers add just $75,000 to the cap and fill a hole. Would like Dallas to take on a bad SPC like Sam Klassen($60,000 AHL) or Chris Chappell($50,000 AHL). Similar to the Aaron Voros and Ryan Hillier for Steve Eminger trade. The Rangers took on an extra $600,000 in real money and sent a bad SPC in Hillier to Anaheim.
Fistric would obviously become a Garden fan favorite.
If that guy throws hits like that on a somewhat regular basis and if you think he is equal in worth to EC, then that guy must just be completely horrible and defense. Or the trade is completely lopsided.
This would be a great move and a huge win for us. Fistric would fill 2 holes on this team, 6/7 dman, and a physical presence on the back end. Is there any real chance Dallas does this AND takes a bad SPC off our hands.
No thanks to this guy. Two hits to the head, one of them an elbow. One hit where his feet leave the ice, and in the fight he uses Nystrøm's helmet to hit him in the head.
The bluline hit is good, but then when he is invited to fight he sticks his head out as to try to headbut the guy. Guy is dirty, and with everyones eyes on hits to the head now, to me, this guy will get us nothing but penalty minutes.
Saw a good amount of Fistric last year. Dallas fans love him too. He has holes in his defense, but he's certainly at least a bottom pairing d-man. I'm not sure Christensen and an SPC are enough to get him.
