I was just in Whitefish last week. Damn. Too bad Houda isn't taking it to the Pass, I do quite a bit of fishing out there and wouldn't mind an excuse to get out there for a day. Oh well.

I only posted it because someone was complaining about Nate not taking it to Canada and 10 minutes later she posted it. it is a bit creepy but they are normal people too and have some good things to say if that helps make it less creepy.

I didn't see the Florida part. I saw she said Dunnville and Toronto on the 17th.

Nice that they are doing the donation thing for the Dunnville hospital. Very cool.

Stanley Cup coming to Tewksbury Country Club

http://tewksbury.patch.com/articles/...g-to-tewksbury

Quote:
...the decision to bring the Cup to Tewksbury belonged to Bruins' equipment manager Keith Robinson, a 1987 Tewksbury High graduate
WHEN: Saturday July 9, 2011. 10am-1pm

WHERE: Tewksbury Country Club

1880 Main Street
Tewksbury, MA 01876
(978) 640-0033
COST: $10 Admission - This is a charity event.

Quote:
The event Saturday will serve as a charity benefit, with proceeds going to the families of fallen soldiers. Bligh said details regarding which Massachusetts organization will benefit are still being worked out. but she said Robinson definitely wanted to help the families of fallen soldiers.

Whitefish was closer to an international airport so he could have the Cup longer
there than in The Pass.

If anyone gets more info about this, please let us know. If my Dad and I could get a picture with the Cup at this event, I'd definitely go.

Based off of the comments by the guy that wrote the article, you can touch/take pictures with the Cup. The only thing you can't do is pick it up. Let me know if that helps or if you need anything else...I'll see if I can find anything else.

I'll add some of the comments he [Bill Gilman] wrote:

Quote:
Dave great question and i was remiss not to add that to the story ... YES! You get to touch the cup and take photos with the cup .... there is a video on the Bruins website with people placing their babies in the cup for a photo! The only thing you cant do is pick up the cup.

I want to go. I wonder what a good time to get there will be?

I hate to wake the kids early, but I am thinking like 7:00

I'm going to be 19 miles away at another charitable event, and won't be able to sneak away....

Guess I'll just have to wait for my next opportunity!

I would think they would have to bring it to Ristuccia eventually. Maybe if it's in the area it might show up during one of the dev camp dates.

No handling though. Why would they allow it in Tewksbury, but not Rochester?

interesting.

Prolly cuz it's there for only 1-1/2 hours. Not much time to allow everyone to get pictures, etc. Just a guess.
