Development Camp July 10 - July 16

Probably a bit early but I am curious who will folks be looking forward to seeing at this year's Development Camp besides 2011 draftees?

I will be very interested in hearing about alphabetically...Carrier, Eakin, Galiev, Kuznetsov, Orlov, and Wey in action together. We always get to hear and sometimes see clips on how these kids are doing in their perpsective leagues and teams but seeing them on the ice together can better assist in projecting where they fit and when they might help at the NHL level. We got to see Kuznetsov, Orlov, and Wey preform at World Juniors in the medal rounds so your opinions about their "potential readiness" to contribute going forward would be valued since I cannot attend the Camp.

I am equally interested in knowing who additionally is invited and how they fit. Free agents, new faces, old faces, etc. It should be a fun week that might put some distance between the distaste of last season's ending and provide a nice transition to realizing a better 2011- 2012 outcome.

Kuznetsov & Orlov are the two top talents that are going to be there, Galiev & Kugryshev are as well, alongside Eakin. Too bad Sjogren won't be there. Also looking forward to see Flemming, Carrier, Herbert, Wey, Mitchell, Stevenson, Grubauer. It's also going to be one of the last chances for the Finley's & Godfrey's of the world to shine.

I thought I remember reading that since Kuznetsov will still be recovering from shoulder surgery that he would not be at development camp?

I loooove the equpiment sale, but they never have any right handed sticks from any of the players I want. I hope this year to grab a green, semin, carlson or mojo stick but I know all that I will see are leftover erskine and nylander stuff again. Then seeing people sell the sticks for almost triple what they paid on ebay pisses me off.

Capitals are supposed to be releasing more information this morning.

Also, add another FA invite, continuing the trend of having MSU players at camp...Chase Grant, MSU 21yo forward, just completed his freshman season.

Development Camp Guide is out.

http://capitals.nhl.com/v2/ext/2011_...Camp_Guide.pdf

19 players on the roster, see FA invites identified via other sources above.

No surprise to see Kugryshev on the roster again.

As far as I know the Caps still retain Nick Larson's rights, but as an NCAA prospect he has yet to attend a Capitals camp. Kuznetsov is the only other unsigned prospect not on the roster, but he wasn't expected to attend camp this summer.

All 4 2011 draft picks are on the 19 player roster released.

Of those listed, Sjogren, Grubauer, Anderson (returning to juniors), Eakin, Flemming, Stevenson, Mitchell and Orlov are under contract with the Capitals.

Soberg from the photo looks like he's about 10 years old. Also he's got that Tyler Kennedy nose look.

See post #7, 10 FA invites have been identified through twitter, articles, etc., and are listed there, including Stollery.

19 on Caps roster plus FA invites identified by position:

4 goalies: 3 goalies plus 1 FA invite identified

10 defensemen: 7 dmen plus 3 FA invites identified

15 forwards: 9 forwards plus 6 FA invites identified

I'm assuming there will be some more FAs in attendance.

Anyone here planning on checking out any of the scrimmages? Guess no game against the Flyers rooks this year.

I'll be there for as many of the practices and scrimmages as I can get to.

I am debating taking a day off of work, to try to see a scrimmage. And a token lunch time visit or two.

Considering taking off early to catch a scrimmage, or maybe just try to hit the Saturday one.

That's at the fall/September rookie camp not summer development camp.

Going to be difficult to get there this year, but I may try at least 1 day/scrimmage other than Saturday.

I saw that after I made the post. I was going through the list and he was near the bottom, and I must of missed it.

Yeah, I have the list alphabetical but by position.

OT: Looks like local player Garrett Roe is not going to be signed by LA Kings...did not seem him on the Kings development camp roster.

add another to the list.

Sam Henley, LW, played for Lewiston with Carrier; claimed by his hometown team, Val d’Or, which happens to be the team his brother plays for, too.

It would be fun to watch that Wednesday game. I work in Arlington but have never been to Kettler, do I need to buy a ticket or do I just walk right in?
