I understand that it is way too early to begin making any predictions about this upcoming season but I must say that it is great to see that Jeff O'Neill is looking mighty fine. 3 goals plus the shootout winner in 2 scrimmages and from all accounts he is ready to put the injuries which have limited his production over the past 2 seasons behind him and return to his 2000-2001 type numbers.
I would love to see O'Neill on Sundin's wing but I think he might have more natural chemistry playing on the second line with Allison. If we are to get the most for our money out of Marius Czerkawski I think he should have a spot on Sundin's wing. It may be optimistic but Marius looks glad to be in a big hockey market like Toronto with his old buddy Mats and if Sundin can keep him motivated I don't think that 25-30 goals is out of the question.
you seem to have missed all the qualifiers I included and the whole "I understand training camp and scrimmages mean next to nothing". the point is that Jeff is where he wants to be, it looks like he has put the shoulder injuries behind him and he is looking good. that's all.
