And I really don't mean to beat this running gag to death and will stop if you're getting annoyed, but since it's uncanny that these things keep happening while I was away from the wonders of the internet...I was taking a nap when this trade was announced. Running tally:
-Todd Richards hired- No internet
-Carter acquired- At the beach
-Wisniewski signed- Out running around Daytona
-Sanford, Johnson, Dekanich signings- At NASCAR souvenir trailers
-Martinek signed- Traveling home
-Russell twin picked up- Nap.

I thought that was Mase...Mase gave it to Blunden after Claude's second win.
Clearly the Hockey Gods are telling you to shut up and stay away.

Thanks, Howson, for cleaning up MacLean's toxic waste. Welcome, Kekalainen; let's get good things built!

This seems kinda stooopid. Blundin has much better weightiness, I bet.

We're going to have to double shift all of our wingers in camp so all 74 centers can get reps.

Two, two, two Russells in one.

Crap this means we're going to have to draw a dot on one of them so we can tell them apart.

Maybe combined the twins can make one halfway decent 4th liner?

Centers and defensemen are the most valuable pieces in the NHL. I ain't complainin'.

Obviously, Howson did this just to piss this board off.

You'd probably get two out of that, altho Kris might have some growing pains adjusting to the forward position. Ryan's already a capable two-way guy. I wouldn't put them on a hard-hitting line, and I'd want to throw a bruiser-type on their RW, but they could probably play merry hell with secondary and tertiary scorers.

We could call them the Merry Prankster Elves or something.

I hereby dub them Merry and Pippin.

First we brought in Aaron for Rick.
Now Thing 1 for Thing 2.

What's next? Jackets sign Mason's mom?

The only thing that confuses me is how Kris Russell is born in Caroline Alberta, while his twin brother was born 1 hour and 23 minutes away in Red Deer Alberta. Weird.

Not really, because he's invisible. Seriously, he doesn't exactly do anything good or bad, he's just... there. He's the definition of a warm body.

I'm all for this trade. Worst case – nothing happens because Blunden and Ryan Russell are two worthless players. Best case – Kris gets a morale boost and pieces things together.

Maybe they were born on a plane as it was flying?

He's trying to confuse us. That way whenever there's a "TRADE RUSSELL" thread every one will be all like "WHICH ONE HURR DURRR DUR!?!?"

Scott Howson is an evil genius.

Does Ryan Johansen have a brother?

still in Jr? Definite draft target for the future.

Blunden was brought in for Hitch because he was "heavy", or played heavy?

We signed his teammate to an ELC last fall (Oliver Gabriel).

Maybe the Russells were born while the mother was on the way to the nearest hospital.

Whatever you do, don't read the offseason thread.

No, but I hear we are bringing Scott Hartnell's (ex) wife into the front office for Jeff Carter.
